Stacey Solomon calls out trolls after being blasted for sharing ‘annoying’ affiliate links with her fans as she insists she ‘gets paid very little’ for them in emotional video

The 36-year-old TV personality used her social media stories to ask her followers if they minded seeing links to products – like makeup – mixed in with her regular posts about her life.

As a lifestyle expert, I often get asked about how I earn income from the products I recommend. It’s pretty simple: I use something called affiliate links. Basically, if you discover a product through my site and decide to buy it, I earn a small commission – it’s a way to support my work and keep the content flowing, and it doesn’t cost you anything extra! It’s a win-win.

I’ve been a little surprised to hear some of the reaction to my recent posts, honestly. It’s been tough, because I’ve unfortunately experienced some online trolling as a result, and it’s been emotionally draining to deal with.

In a video posted on Thursday, the mother of five said she’d noticed some negative comments recently. She wasn’t sure if these comments were from ‘trolls,’ or if they reflected a wider feeling, so she wanted to ask a question.

‘Does that really upset people? Or is it any different to doing an ad with a brand?

It’ll be similar to when I share something online and a lot of people ask where I got it. If it’s from Amazon, I usually just post the link. But with affiliate links, it automatically directs people to where the item is in stock and at the best price.

I do make a tiny commission on it, though it’s much less than what you’d earn from advertising. But I can definitely help you find a suitable option if that works for you.

I’m not going to do that, but if the regular links bother anyone, I’ll share them anyway.

Stacey admitted that online trolls were bothering her and making her doubt herself. She said she was starting to worry that people didn’t like her work.

Recently, sources told the Daily Mail that Stacey has ended her friendship with Sophie Hinchliffe, also known as Mrs Hinch.

Molly Clayton learned the reason why her once-inseparable friends had a falling out and stopped talking to each other.

After some disagreements between Stacey and her husband Joe Swash while filming, it was announced last week whether their reality show would continue.

Stacey & Joe hit BBC One back in April and was followed by a second series in September this year.

The show documents the daily life of a married couple who began dating in 2016, along with their children: six-year-old Rex, four-year-old Rose, two-year-old Belle, and Stacey’s older sons, Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 13.

A source at a TV network revealed that there’s a growing demand for reality shows following celebrities in their homes, similar to programs already being made with Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.

‘But Stacey, with hubby Joe, is blazing a trail.’

Stacey apparently wished she hadn’t joined the reality TV show back in May, following negative reactions to it.

Stacey and Joe have been clear about wanting to show a realistic picture of their lives, including both the good and the bad. They’ve said they weren’t aiming to present a perfect or overly glamorous image.

When the show’s renewal for a second series was announced, Stacey and Joe expressed their gratitude to everyone who had watched the first series…

We’re incredibly thankful for all the kind messages we’ve received, and we’re thrilled to be working with the BBC on a new series.
