Katie Price has publicly criticized her ex-boyfriend, Dwight Yorke, in a recent video where she had their son, Harvey, repeatedly say Yorke’s name.
Katie Price, 47, gave birth to her son Harvey on May 27, 2002. Harvey, now 23, is blind and autistic, and has a learning disability called septo-optic dysplasia. He also has Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting around 2,000 people in the UK.
Dwight, age 53, reportedly hasn’t spoken to his son. Katie has said the last time Dwight saw Harvey was back in 2012.
Katie posted a video on Instagram of Harvey wearing a Manchester United jersey – the team Dwight used to play for.
In the clip, she tells Harvey ‘go’ and then he chants, ‘Oi, oi, Yorkey.’
Katie tagged both Dwight and Manchester United in the video.
Katie has five children. She shares Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, with her first ex-husband, Peter Andre, and Jett, 12, and Bunny, 11, with her second ex-husband, Kieran Hayler.
Daily Mail has contacted a representative of Dwight Yorke for comment.
When Katie found out she was pregnant with Harvey, Dwight initially refused to accept he was the father, but a DNA test later confirmed he was.
Katie previously discussed Harvey’s birth on her podcast, explaining that Dwight arrived late and chose not to be present for the delivery or cut the umbilical cord, so her father did it instead.
Katie went on to explain that she remembered Dwight noticing a bruise and reacting, which she found incredibly offensive. She thought to herself, ‘Don’t patronize me!’
‘That was the last time I sort of saw Dwight, I didn’t see him many times after that.
‘I found it [the mark] and it’s called a Mongolian blue spot, it fades eventually.’
Katie’s mom, Amy, has said before that Dwight, despite being known as a womanizer, is her favorite of Katie’s exes.
In her new autobiography, ‘The Last Word,’ she revealed something unexpected while talking about Katie’s troubled romance with the soccer player.
Yet Amy revealed that despite this, he still holds a special place in her heart.
An extract from her book, published in The Sun, read: ‘When Kate told me she was dating Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke, my heart sank. He had a reputation as a womaniser.
Even though Kate has dated a lot of people, Dwight will probably always be my favorite because they gave us our wonderful child.
Amy explained that Dwight didn’t attend any of their baby scans or parenting classes, and that his friends had led him to believe she was trying to get money from him by having the baby.
Amy shared that although the athlete was present for the birth, his agent advised him not to officially register the birth with Katie until a DNA test confirmed paternity. Amy felt this ruined what should have been a happy occasion, describing it as a cynical act.
In her 2021 memoir, Katie Price: Harvey and Me, Katie Price revealed that Dwight reportedly wouldn’t let Harvey see him after Harvey expressed a desire to meet his father during a meal in the Cheshire village of Alderley Edge.
Katie wrote that she approached him, but the interaction was really awkward because he barely spoke. She was also annoyed he hadn’t even offered to buy her a drink, which she said was typical behavior for Dwight.
She said he told them he didn’t want to see them after she got there.
Even after he said those words, I didn’t give up. I really wanted Harvey to have a relationship with his father, but he didn’t seem to care at all. He insisted it wasn’t about him, but about Harvey and his own family.
He simply didn’t care, and I realized I’d reached a point where further effort was pointless. I walked away, and that was the last time I ever saw him. He’s never contacted me since.
In his 2009 book, Born To Score, Dwight criticized Katie, alleging she prevented him from seeing Harvey.
He shared that the instant he saw his son, his love was beyond anything he’d ever known. He wants to make it clear that he always cared deeply for Harvey, understood his needs, and was fully invested in his well-being, and he won’t tolerate anyone suggesting otherwise.
