Strictly star Vicky Pattison denies the rumours her husband Ercan is on a ‘sex ban’ and admits she cried when she was offered the BBC show

Vicky Pattison has dismissed claims that her husband, Ercan Ramadan, has put a stop to their intimacy while she competes on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 37-year-old, who previously appeared on Geordie Shore, is working hard with her dance partner, Kai Widdrington, to deliver strong performances and win over the judges each week.

After earning their best score and climbing to the top of the leaderboard with a 33 for their performance during Icons Week, all their hard work is clearly starting to show.

Vicky recently addressed rumors about her marriage, telling The Mirror that reports of a ‘sex ban’ involving her husband, Ercan, are false.

‘Our relationship is very happy and healthy… I’m just tired from all the dancing!’

Vicky shared that she was so thrilled to finally be on the BBC show – something she’d dreamed of for years – that she cried when she found out she’d been selected.

I’d been hoping for this opportunity for years, but I never thought anyone would consider me. So when I finally received the call, I was completely surprised and incredibly honored. It even brought tears to my eyes.

Vicky recently spoke with the Mail on Sunday about the demands of the competition, explaining that Ercan was having to be understanding and supportive while she navigated it all.

We’ve been together for almost ten years, and our relationship is strong in every way. But things have been difficult lately.

You’re clearly working incredibly hard with your intense daily training. I’m juggling a lot too – I’m still working my regular job on top of creating a podcast, managing social media, and I’ve just released a clothing line. It’s a really busy time for me.

She continued, explaining that after spending all day dancing the Charleston, you wouldn’t want to go home and start vigorously moving around on the bed!

He’s being quite understanding with us right now, even though he might be the only person I know who secretly wants me to fail.

They announced their engagement in 2022 and then married last year, with the whole event filmed for a Channel 4 documentary called My Big Fat Geordie Wedding.

Vicky is really committed to doing well on Strictly and wants to show the judge Shirley that she can improve. However, she often feels overwhelmed and unsure of herself each week.

Just saying it out loud makes me emotional. I knew this would push me outside of what’s familiar, but I didn’t realize how constantly afraid I’d be, and it’s really draining.

Vicky became visibly emotional and struggled to hold back tears on Saturday’s episode of Strictly, as she opened up about feeling lost in her career.

During Icons Week on the show, the celebrity contestant performed Cheryl’s song “Fight For This Love.” She was incredibly surprised and moved when Cheryl herself appeared in a heartwarming video message.

Vicky, known from the MTV show Geordie Shore, shared that she’d made mistakes in the past but has been working to improve herself. She believes her new song reflects that journey of personal growth.

She shared that the song’s message is about moving on from past mistakes, especially since she’s previously expressed regret over being publicly known for her past relationships with ex-partners on television.

Before she began speaking, she shared that Cheryl Cole is a role model for her, noting that Cheryl is a down-to-earth woman from Newcastle.

‘She has had her ups and downs, her grazed knees. I just feel like I can relate to a lot of that.’

I had a really happy childhood, as far as I can remember. It wasn’t until I grew older that things started to feel a little lost.

I entered this field around age 21, and looking back, I definitely made some mistakes. I think I simply lacked the experience and skills to handle the situation I was in at that time.

I’m working hard to improve myself and become someone I admire.

There’s nothing quite like being on stage, pouring my heart out, and then spotting my family – my mum, dad, and sister – in the crowd. Seeing their faces makes all the hard work and nerves completely worth it. It’s an amazing feeling, honestly.

I’ve discovered something really important about myself: when I put my mind to something and truly believe I can do it, I actually can! It’s amazing what determination and a little self-belief can unlock.

Vicky explained her song choice, saying ‘Fight For This Love’ resonated with her because it’s about overcoming challenges and achieving a stronger outcome than the initial difficulty.

You have the power to create your own story and become the person you aspire to be. Don’t let past experiences limit your potential.

‘I worked on myself and now I’m here, I’m finally becoming a woman that I am proud of.’
