Sound Of Guns singer Andrew Metcalfe has died.
His bandmates honored him with a Facebook post on Wednesday, calling him one of the most captivating performers ever to take the stage.
They didn’t reveal how he died in their announcement, and fans responded with hundreds of comments as they processed the heartbreaking news.
Sound of Guns are an English alternative rock band from Liverpool who were formed in 2008.
Lee Glynn, Nathan Crowley, John Coley and Simon Finley made up the band along with Andrew.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Andrew Metcalfe, the frontman of Sound of Guns, who was also a dear friend and brother to many.

Andy was a truly exceptional performer. He captivated audiences with his stage presence, wrote amazing songs, and possessed a unique and unforgettable voice.
The band shared that they were grateful for the time they spent with him and for all they accomplished together as a group.
‘We saw incredible things, played incredible stages and met incredible people.’
The band described him as a talented and kind person – a true artist, performer, and songwriter – and expressed their gratitude for his impact on music.
The band first gained attention through BBC Introducing, and later signed with the independent record label Distiller Records. They released their first album, What Came From Fire, in 2010 through Distiller.
They had a second album Angels and Enemies which was released in March 2012.
The band revealed plans for a complete UK and European tour in early 2012, timed with the release of their second album.
Then in October 2013, the band announced that they were to go on an indefinite hiatus.
Fans were deeply saddened by the news and shared heartfelt tributes online. One fan wrote, ‘This is shocking! Sound of Guns was an amazing band, and I’m so glad I saw them live from the beginning in 2008. They deserved much more recognition. Rest in peace, Andy.’

I was so gutted to hear about Andrew Metcalfe from Sound of Guns. They’re honestly one of my all-time favourite bands. A friend of mine actually booked them to play up in Whitehaven years ago, over a decade ago now, and seeing them live was just incredible – such a brilliant, energetic performance. I still find myself going back to listen to their music every now and then; it always brings back great memories.
I was so saddened to learn about the death of Andrew Metcalfe, the singer from Sound of Guns. I saw them perform many times in Glasgow and always thought they deserved to be much more well-known. Rest in peace, Andy.
It’s very sad to hear that Andrew Metcalfe of Sound of Guns has passed away. I last saw them perform at the Cardiff Barfly in 2010, just a week before the venue closed its doors.
That’s really sad to hear. I’ll always remember seeing you perform live at the O2 in Liverpool around 12 or 13 years ago – Andy diving into the crowd made it one of the most energetic and unforgettable concerts I’ve ever experienced.
I was very saddened to hear this news. I had the chance to meet Andy a couple of times while attending the Sound of Guns tours in Cambridge and Peterborough.
He was a natural performer with a huge heart and an even better friend. I’ll always cherish our memories together. Something beautiful emerged from a difficult period, and it truly helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. Sending peace and love.

‘I’m truly gutted. Andy was such a showman with such an energy and presence he ignited the room.
I’ll always remember the amazing times we’ve had, especially those beers backstage after the show at the Hare and Hounds the last time we met.
“Still The Words” was the very first song I ever listened to, and it means a lot to me, especially now. Sending my love and deepest sympathy to everyone, and my thoughts and prayers are with Andy’s family.
Sound of Guns received positive reviews while they were a band, playing at large music festivals and releasing two albums.
