Shortly after being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, Jan Ravnik spoke out against those he said were spreading negativity.
When asked about criticism from Dancing with the Stars pro Maks Chmerkovskiy regarding his addition to the show, he simply stated he wouldn’t be commenting on it.
Okay, so this is seriously bugging me! This amazing dancer, you guys, the one who was with Taylor on the Eras Tour – seriously, a dream! – finally spoke up about all the people trying to get attention by talking about her. It’s just…ugh. Like, can’t they just let her shine without trying to stay relevant themselves? I’m so glad she addressed it, honestly.
This follows a statement made by the former “Dancing with the Stars” professional, age 45, who said Ravnik shouldn’t be a professional dancer on the show.
Immediately after being voted off the show with his partner, Jen Affleck, on Tuesday, he told Entertainment Tonight he wouldn’t discuss it, adding, ‘I just feel a lot of love from being on the show.’
He continued: ‘All the praise from the judges also, like everyone gave me so much love.

Ravnik stated that those trying to stay in the public eye by spreading negativity are going about it the wrong way, and he personally refuses to participate in or promote hate.
Ravnik didn’t seem bothered by the moment, but his dance partner, 26-year-old Affleck, playfully pretended to restrain him, saying ‘hold me back!’
Ravnik’s response comes after Chmerkovskiy criticized Ravnik’s dancing skills.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy appeared on his wife Peta Murgatroyd’s podcast, ‘The Penthouse with Peta,’ last Friday to talk about the recent ‘Wicked’-themed episode of ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
During the podcast, Murgatroyd suggested being understanding towards Ravnik for not knowing the foxtrot. Chmerkovskiy disagreed, stating there was no need to be lenient.
He apologized, then explained why he didn’t think Jan should be on Dancing with the Stars. He felt Jan lacked the necessary skills, technique, and understanding of how to dance with a partner, and simply wasn’t prepared for the competition.
‘Bro, I’m getting emotional. It is absurd,’ he added.
He went on, expressing disbelief that people couldn’t see something obvious, and jokingly said he hoped no one would point it out – apparently, he didn’t know what a foxtrot was supposed to look like.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy stated he had no personal issues with the casting choice, but felt it was a chance to showcase someone else.
Murgatroyd explained that Ravnik’s previous work as a backup dancer for Taylor Swift was the clear reason he was chosen for the job.
Despite her initial disagreement, she admitted he had a point, stating that it was ridiculous to hire someone who wasn’t a ballroom dancer to teach a celebrity how to do it.
Ravnik and Affleck performed a dance to Taylor Swift’s song ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ just before they were eliminated on Tuesday night.
In a conversation with People, he gushed about how that was his partner’s ‘best performance.’
Affleck said that during their time on the show, many people didn’t believe in them.

She explained that after facing a lot of criticism and doubt, especially while recovering after childbirth, she really wanted a chance to show everyone what she was capable of.
Similar to what Taylor Swift describes in her song, I used the negativity from my critics as motivation tonight, just like she did.
After being eliminated, Ravnik said he was ‘just happy.’
I was initially concerned about who I’d be paired with, but I couldn’t have asked for a better partner on the show – it’s this amazing woman right here. It was also a fantastic experience overall.
He explained that the experience was unique and filled with a lot of support and affection. He emphasized that everyone involved – the contestants, the production crew, and the professional dancers – were all incredibly talented and contributed to a positive atmosphere.
