‘Expendables’ Icon Debuts Thrilling First Footage From This Year’s Martial Arts Action War Epic

Iko Uwais, known for his roles in The Raid and Expend4bles, has released the first trailer for the action movie he’s directing, called Timur. Uwais will both direct and star in the film, which is based on the true story of an international hostage crisis and features intense martial arts action.

Timur is an action-packed movie created by Uwais Pictures and directed by Iko Uwais. The film’s story is based on a real event from 1996 called Operation Mapenduma, where Indonesian special forces rescued hostages held captive in Papua during the Lorentz 95 Expedition.

This film isn’t about specific political issues; instead, it focuses on themes like bravery, love of country, and the importance of self-sacrifice. Timur is the first film from Uwais Pictures, and they’re already working on another called Ikatan Darah. This new film will center on a retired martial artist who has to confront dangerous loan sharks to rescue her brother from gambling debts that threaten their family.

Iko Uwais, known for his role in The Raid, is teaming up again with Skyline: Warpath director Liam O’Donnell for a classic action thriller. The film, MRI, centers around Uwais as a damaged hitman—struggling with family issues and a bad knee—who finds himself in the middle of a dangerous situation when gangsters take over the hospital during his routine MRI scan. He’s the only one who can save the crime boss’s daughter and, despite his injuries, must find a way to stop them.
