Catherine Zeta-Jones’ daughter reveals what she steals from her mom’s closet as she makes rare appearance with dad Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ daughter is sharing how her mother influenced her style.

Though her actress mother couldn’t attend, the 22-year-old was accompanied by her 81-year-old father at Tuesday’s Icons of Culture Gala at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York City, and her mother’s influence was clearly present.

Carys shared with People magazine that she often borrows clothes from her 56-year-old mother, a recent star who showcased her amazing physique, and incorporates them into her own wardrobe.

Carys Zeta-Douglas, the daughter of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, is a Brown University graduate with degrees in film and international relations. She prioritizes sustainable fashion and avoiding throwaway trends, a goal helped by her mother’s extensive collection of designer clothes accumulated over many years.

Carys said she loves wearing vintage clothing. She prefers not to buy new clothes, as she’s not a fan of fast fashion and cares about sustainability. She feels fortunate to have a great wardrobe filled with pieces she can choose from.

Carys often borrows clothes from her mother’s closet and puts outfits together, but she confessed she doesn’t always ask permission – and she admits she does it quite often.

The young actress described the uncomfortable moments that happen when her mother catches her wearing clothes she wasn’t supposed to take.

‘She’s like, “Is that my bag?’ I’m like, “I don’t know. I don’t think so,”‘ Carys chuckled.

She’s shared a love of fashion with her mother before, like when they attended the Michael Kors show together during New York Fashion Week in 2017.

The mother and daughter have shared glamorous red carpet moments together, such as when they attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 and posed for photos.

At the gala, Carys mentioned she was excited to explore the arts now that she’d graduated from college.

She said she developed her love for performing through theater, not formal training. That’s why she appreciates being in a place dedicated to learning about the arts, and she hopes to experience more of that kind of environment.

She hinted at a shift in her career path after appearing in the short films Shell and F That Guy in 2024. F That Guy was executive produced by Spike Lee and featured Victoria Pedretti, known for her role in The Haunting of Hill House.

In addition to Carys, Douglas and Zeta-Jones share an older son, 25-year-old Dylan Douglas.

Like his actor parents, Dylan is pursuing a career in acting. He started with voice work in 2011, appearing on the show Phineas and Ferb. Recently, Variety announced that he’s making his first on-screen appearance in the upcoming thriller, I Will Come To You.

He’s reportedly playing the lead role in the film, as well as producing it.

Douglas has a son, Cameron, age 46, from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker.

Cameron followed in his family’s footsteps and joined the family business. He even appeared in a film with his father called Looking Through Water, which came out in September and also featured David Morse.
