I’m seriously hyped for this new action movie! It’s being called a game-changer for martial arts films, and it’s coming at us fast. It actually premiered at the TIFF Midnight Madness section and has been getting incredible buzz – it currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes! Best of all, Lionsgate picked it up, so we finally have a release date here domestically. I can’t wait to see it!
Action director Tanigaki Kenji (known for films like Raging Fire and Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In) brings a powerhouse cast of actors and martial artists to his latest film, The Furious. The film stars Miao Xie (My Father Is a Hero), along with renowned fighters like those from The Raid and Mortal Kombat, Jeeja Yanin (Chocolate, Triple Threat), Yang Enyu (Eye for an Eye 2), Brian Le (The Brothers Sun), Joey Iwanaga (Rurouni Kenshin: Final Chapter Part I – The Final), and Yayan Ruhian (The Raid, The Raid 2). Here’s a look at what The Furious is all about…
When a child trafficking ring kidnaps his daughter, Rainy, skilled martial artist Wang Wei embarks on a relentless mission to save her. He battles both the criminals responsible and the corrupt police who enable them, stopping at nothing to bring Rainy home.
During his investigation, he meets Navin, a determined journalist searching for his missing wife. They team up, using their fighting abilities to overcome numerous dangers, uncover important leads, and ultimately rescue Rainy and several children. Together, they shut down a dangerous human trafficking operation and bring justice to the victims.
Lionsgate has acquired the rights to the film The Furious for distribution worldwide, excluding mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao. It’s scheduled to hit theaters in 2026, and fans can look forward to what’s shaping up to be a thrilling action movie.
