Star Wars just revealed a new poster for an upcoming show, marking the first look at a sequel to their popular 2021 series. After a successful year for Star Wars on Disney+ with shows like Andor Season 2, fans have one more new project to look forward to before the year ends.
The official Star Wars account on X recently revealed a new poster for Season 3 of Star Wars: Visions. The poster showcases the Ronin, a beloved character who was originally introduced as a former Sith in the first season’s episode, “The Duel.”

The popular Ronin character from the first season of Star Wars: Visions is returning in Season 3. A new episode, titled “The Duel: Payback,” will continue the Ronin’s story, acting as a direct sequel to the “The Duel” episode from Season 1.
The new poster for Ronin’s next episode features the character in his signature robes. He’s wielding a glowing red lightsaber, and his droid companion, B5-56, appears at the bottom of the image.
The image includes a female character named Anée-san wielding a red lightsaber. She’s a Twi’lek, a species known for their head-tails, which she styles up with traditional Japanese hair sticks as a tribute to female Samurai warriors. Anée-san is also notable for possessing a lightsaber with more blades than any other character in Star Wars history.

The Season 1 episode featuring Ronin also had an official poster released with it. The poster showed Ronin without his lightsaber drawn, and it also included Kouru, the episode’s villain.
Although “The Duel: Payback” continues the story from Season 1’s “The Duel,” this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Ronin character since his introduction. In 2021, the same year Visions Season 1 came out, a novel called Star Wars Visions: Ronin by Emma Mieko Candon was published. The character proved popular with fans and even got his own comic book series.
Star Wars: Visions Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, October 28.
Other Major Star Wars Sequels in the Works
While ‘The Duel: Payback’ from Star Wars: Visions is getting a sequel, it’s not the only one Lucasfilm is working on. Season 3 of Visions will actually include multiple episodes that continue stories from previous installments, and those will be available very soon. Beyond that, we can expect more sequels to other Star Wars projects in the years ahead.
The Lost Ones

“The Lost Ones” is a new episode from Season 3 of Star Wars: Visions. It continues the story from the Season 1 episode “The Village Bride,” bringing back characters like F, who first appeared in that earlier installment.
The upcoming story, “The Lost Ones,” will feature a character named Shad-Rah, seen in promotional artwork wielding a pink lightsaber.
The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope

Besides “The Duel,” the episode “The Ninth Jedi” from Visions Season 1 was the most well-received. Because fans often suggested it could become a full series, they were thrilled to hear that Visions Season 3 will continue the story in an episode called “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope.”
That episode will feature Kara, a character first introduced in Season 1.
Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi

Following the release of “The Ninth Jedi,” fans expressed a strong desire to learn more about Kara and her adventures. Luckily, at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, it was announced that a spin-off series, also titled “The Ninth Jedi,” would continue her story.
The new series is planned for release in 2026 and will pick up right where the story of “The Ninth Jedi” from Star Wars: Visions left off.
Young Jedi Adventures Season 3

Disney and Lucasfilm have pushed back the release of Young Jedi Adventures, though they haven’t said why. It’s possible they want to avoid releasing it too close to the third season of Visions, as both were originally planned for fall 2025.
Despite the delays, the new season is still planned for release, now expected in 2026. It will continue the story of Kai and his friends, picking up right after the events of the first two seasons of Young Jedi Adventures.
The Mandalorian & Grogu

As a huge fan, I was pretty shocked when it seemed like The Mandalorian was ending! But thankfully, Din Djarin and Grogu’s adventures aren’t over. We’ll be seeing their story continue as a movie – The Mandalorian & Grogu – hitting theaters on May 22, 2026, and I can’t wait!
Whether we get more movies like it depends on how well this one does in theaters. As of now, The Mandalorian & Grogu is the only planned sequel to The Mandalorian.
Maul – Shadow Lord

A major announcement at Star Wars Celebration 2025 was a new animated series called Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Set to premiere in 2026, the show will continue the story directly after the events of The Clone Wars.
Darth Maul played a significant role in the final story arc of The Clone Wars, called The Siege of Mandalore. Because he later appeared in Star Wars Rebels, the upcoming story, Shadow Lord, will explain what happened between those two events.
Sam Witwer, who played Maul, recently shared that the new series will actually continue the story of The Clone Wars instead of leading up to Rebels. It will be set immediately after the events of The Clone Wars.
Ahsoka Season 2

The 2023 series Ahsoka quickly became a fan favorite and offered several unexpected treats. Over its eight episodes, the show continued the story of Star Wars Rebels, expanded the Star Wars universe with new locations, and brought back Hayden Christensen as the good Anakin Skywalker – a role he hadn’t played since Revenge of the Sith in 2005.
The second season of Ahsoka will pick up immediately after the events of Season 1, with Ahsoka, Sabine, and the villains still stranded on Peridea. Expected to premiere in 2026, the new season promises to bring more exciting developments to the Star Wars universe.
Untitled Rey Movie

Although the main Star Wars story, the Skywalker Saga, concluded in 2019 with The Rise of Skywalker, the characters continue to be part of new projects. Lucasfilm initially announced a film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy featuring Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey, but the movie’s progress has stalled.
Although the movie currently doesn’t have a title, Lucasfilm is reportedly still working on it. The film will continue the story after The Rise of Skywalker, following Rey as she establishes a new Jedi Order.
Okay, so I’m hearing that once Lucasfilm wraps up work on The Mandalorian & Grogu and that Starfighter project, they’ll finally be able to really focus on getting the new Rey movie off the ground. It sounds like things were on hold until those other projects were further along, but now it feels like it might actually start moving!
