Fatboy Slim reveals Brazilian football legend Ronaldo SNOGGED him ‘full on the face’ as he DJ’d at the World Cup winner’s Paris wedding

DJ Fatboy Slim shared that Brazilian football star Ronaldo passionately kissed him while he was performing at Ronaldo’s wedding.

Norman Cook, a 62-year-old musician, DJed at the 2005 wedding of the former Real Madrid and Brazil soccer player in Paris.

The ceremony was packed with celebrities, including David and Victoria Beckham, who both attended the event. David is 50 years old, and Victoria is 51.

I was chatting with Norman recently at his book launch for ‘It Ain’t Over… ‘Til The Fatboy Sings,’ and he shared a funny memory. He admitted he was actually quite nervous before going on stage at the reception – can you believe it? He’s usually so confident!

He hesitated about his music choices, wondering if the important guests would enjoy them, but his concerns were unfounded. Once the drinks began circulating, the party quickly became like any other wedding – lively and a bit chaotic.

He remembered the experience started in Paris and felt a bit unusual. He doesn’t often DJ weddings, but he got a call from Ronaldo – the Brazilian player, when he was with Real Madrid – asking him to DJ his wedding, mentioning that David and Victoria Beckham would be attending.

You know, after all the planning and build-up, it really just felt like…a wedding. I had that moment of panic, wondering if I’d missed a crucial song request. And honestly, looking around, it struck me how many people didn’t really know each other, and how much everyone had changed over the years. It’s funny how quickly those little details become apparent when you’re in the thick of it!

Honestly, it was chaos! A couple of hours into the party, everyone was completely hammered and a massive dance-off started – people were literally climbing on top of each other. Then, out of nowhere, Ronaldo started passionately kissing me! My friend, meanwhile, was making a play for his wife, and his dad… well, let’s just say his tie ended up as a makeshift headband. It quickly turned into the kind of wedding where everything goes a little wild – just like every other wedding, really!

Norman remembers the funny things that happened at the wedding, but he doesn’t recall what songs he played because he used to drink heavily at that time.

He was sure a large part of his collection would have included the Big Beach Boutique II DVD, as it was very popular in Brazil.

Oh my gosh, it just breaks my heart to hear him talk about it! He revealed that when he was still struggling with drinking – can you believe he’s been sober for 16 years in 2025?! – he honestly couldn’t even remember what he was playing on stage! It wasn’t about the music, it was just… the way he behaved back then. It’s so raw and honest, and it makes me admire him even more that he’s come so far.

He explained that Ronaldo was among those who had seen the DVD, and he was aware of that fact. He estimated he’d watched about half of it.

‘I wish I had played Come On Eileen, though.’

In February 2005, Ronaldo, then 49, held a wedding ceremony with model Daniella Cicarelli at a French castle. However, it was later revealed that the marriage wasn’t legally valid, as both Ronaldo and Cicarelli were still legally married to their former spouses.

Three months after their castle ceremony – which they presented as a formal wedding – they separated. Daniella later stated the reason for the split was Ronaldo’s infidelity.

Following his breakup, he married Maria Beatriz Antony, who was studying engineering, but they divorced in 2012.

Cristiano Ronaldo has one son, Ronald, with his first wife, Milene Domingues. He also has twin daughters, Maria Sofia and Maria Alice, with his former partner, Maria.

He is now married to model Celina Locks, and the pair tied the knot in Ibiza, Spain, in 2023.  

Norman and Ronaldo became friends before Norman DJ’d Ronaldo’s wedding. They originally met when Ronaldo, formerly of Barcelona, attended one of Norman’s concerts in Rio de Janeiro.

Oh my gosh, it’s just… incredible how we became friends! It all started a few years ago when he started coming to my shows, can you believe it?! Then, I got to DJ at his wedding! Seriously, a dream come true. It actually began when he came backstage at a gig I did in Rio – he said he became a fan of my music right then and there. I still can’t get over it!
