Country star Emily Ann Roberts suffers ‘nightmare’ wardrobe malfunction during live show

Emily Ann Roberts has spoken out after a mishap with her clothing during a performance at the City Winery in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday.

The 27-year-old country singer, a finalist on season 9 of The Voice, shared a very embarrassing story about her top button unexpectedly coming undone while she was performing on stage.

In a recent TikTok video, the artist behind “Burning House” described how she quickly handled the situation before briefly exposing herself to the viewers.

Roberts shared that she had a close call during tonight’s show, nearly exposing herself to the sold-out audience.

Because her fans were mostly young people who appreciated her positive and religious image, the performer kept what was happening very private.

I was two songs into the performance, really enjoying myself in my outfit,” she explained. “I was wearing these fancy pants, but they were only held together by a few weak stitches. And, of course, one of those stitches came undone right in the middle of the song ‘Chickens,'” Roberts said.

Once the song finished, Roberts said she quickly regained her composure and asked her husband to grab her a sweatshirt.

In order to cover herself up, she slipped the baggy pink crewneck over her glamorous look.

I continued singing with that same energy for the rest of my 90-minute performance. “Hot, right? That’s how I felt,” I said with a smile.

She captioned the footage: ‘My worst nightmare came true tonight.’

Roberts was only 16 when she appeared on The Voice in 2015, wowing the public with her vocals.

After placing second in the talent show, she returned to school and married her high school sweetheart, Chris Sasser.

I’m so excited to share that I recently had the incredible opportunity to join Blake Shelton on his Friends And Heroes tour as his opening act! It was amazing being back on the road with him, especially since he was my coach on The Voice. It’s been a whirlwind, and I’m so grateful for the experience.

A source told the Daily Mail in April that Emily’s career really took off after she started working with Blake.

According to sources, Blake has always been a supportive coach who genuinely cares about his contestants and wants them to succeed. He’s been a mentor to this particular contestant, offering guidance and support throughout the past couple of years.

She currently has 1.3 million TikTok followers and 749,000 on Instagram.

Her biggest hits include Stuck on Me and You (2018) and Someday Dream (2019).

She launched her first album, Can’t Hide Country, in 2023, and it has since been streamed over 78 million times.

While auditioning for The Voice on NBC, she impressed two of the coaches with her rendition of Lee Ann Womack’s song, “I Hope You Dance.”

She ultimately lost the competition series to Jordan Smith.

She’s become well-known for sharing the stage with country music stars like Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson, Jamey Johnson, and Clint Black.

In 2024, she was named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country.

After ten years of working as an independent musician, Roberts has signed a recording contract with RECORDS/Sony Music Nashville this month.

Next year she’s planning a full-length album and European tour.
