Blackstorm is completely revamping its 3D turn-based JRPG, Rememento: White Shadow. The global version of the game will go offline temporarily on November 27th, with the Japanese version following on January 31, 2026. Rememento originally launched worldwide in May, after first being released in South Korea last year.
Global version to temporarily pause service this November, Japan follows in January
I’m really excited about Rememento: White Shadow! It’s a turn-based RPG that’s super easy to get into, with a cool way of managing your character’s energy. The battles are quick and engaging, and I love that you can create a team of four anime-inspired characters and swap them around during fights. Plus, everyone has these awesome, powerful ultimate moves you can unleash!
Hello Wardens,
This is Kim Do-yoon, CEO of BLACKSTORM. I’m writing to share some important news and a heartfelt request.
We are preparing to relaunch “Rememento – White Shadow” in December 2024. My team and I at BLACKSTORM…

The game will no longer be available worldwide starting November 27th, and the Japanese version will follow in January. The developers explained that this is to allow them to improve the game and eventually release a version that players will really enjoy.
Players can play until the temporary suspension, and also request refunds
I was so relieved to hear Blackstorm’s CEO, Doyun Kim, talk about really digging into the core issues with the game and working with their partners to make some big improvements. They’ve realized that just adding more stuff won’t fix what’s really going on, and honestly, that’s awesome! It’s encouraging to see they’re willing to do a complete overhaul instead of just slapping on temporary fixes.
Okay, so they’re basically rebuilding the whole game from scratch – everything from how you level up and earn stuff, to the gacha pulls, how the game feels to use, and how often new content drops. They’re letting us play until November 27th as a kind of farewell, but you won’t be able to buy anything in the game, and they’re not pushing out any new updates except for letting us get Chesha and Cael through the Pickup Recall event. It’s like a last chance to enjoy things before the big changes!
We’re not shutting down, but preparing for a new launch, and we’re offering refunds starting tomorrow, November 27th. These requests will be processed within 6 months. However, only unused ‘Glowing Memory’ currency purchased between December 18, 2024, and today will be eligible for a refund.
