Jaclyn Smith turned 80-years-old last week.
Friends like Alana Stewart shared birthday wishes online as she celebrated a significant milestone.
Oh my gosh, she’s absolutely amazing! I first fell in love with her when she played Kelly Garrett on Charlie’s Angels. That show… it was everything! It ran for so long, from 1976 to 1981, and it’s still totally iconic. Seriously, it’s a total cult classic, and she was Kelly Garrett. I can’t even begin to explain how much I love her work on that show!
Her costars were Farrah Fawcett, Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson.
When the show ended in 1981, Jaclyn was the only original cast member still with the series. She acted in every single one of its 110 episodes.
Smith has an incredible work history.
Following her role in Charlie’s Angels, the actress appeared in several television films, including “Florence Nightingale” (1985) and “Windmills of the Gods” (1988).

She branched out into fashion, even designing clothes for K-Mart, which was quite rare back then. She’s continued with this work and now also creates bedding and furniture.
She returned to the world of Charlie’s Angels in 2003, appearing in the film alongside Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. She also made a cameo in the 2019 reboot directed by Elizabeth Banks, though the film didn’t perform well in theaters.
Jaclyn was seen in the training scene.
Smith’s last TV movie was Random Acts Of Christmas with Erin Cahill and Kevin McGarry.
According to her website, she enjoys simple pleasures like spending time with family, tending her garden, listening to Tchaikovsky, watching baseball, and re-watching the movie Gone with the Wind. She also loves her mother’s cooking and her dogs.
Jaclyn, who grew up in Houston, Texas, began dancing at three years old. She went on to study drama at Trinity University and quickly appeared in productions like Bye Bye Birdie, West Side Story, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
She moved from Texas to New York City to become a professional dancer. However, a talent agent noticed her striking looks and suggested she’d be perfect for television. This led to her becoming the popular “Breck Girl” in commercials, and she later worked with other major brands like Wella Balsam and Max Factor.
While working with Max Factor, Jaclyn Smith created her own perfume, ‘Jaclyn Smith’s California.’ It quickly became popular and won the award for best mass-market fragrance in 1989, the same year it was released.

She soon caught the attention of Hollywood and began landing roles in well-known TV shows like McCloud, The Rookies, and Switch.
Jaclyn Smith played Kelly Garrett on Charlie’s Angels starting in 1976, and she was the only original cast member to stay with the show for its entire five-season run.
After appearing in ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ Jaclyn Smith received a Golden Globe nomination for her widely praised performance as Jacqueline Kennedy in a highly-rated TV movie about the former First Lady.
Jaclyn Smith, often called the ‘Queen of Mini-Series’, became well-known for her roles in popular productions like ‘Rage of Angels’, ‘George Washington’, ‘Rage of Angels: The Story Continues’, ‘The Bourne Identity’, and ‘Family Album’. She particularly enjoyed playing the lead role in ‘Florence Nightingale’.
Notably, Jaclyn has compiled an impressive filmography of more than 50 films and TV appearances.
Jaclyn Smith received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1989. She’s known for her roles in several television shows, including playing DA Vanessa Cavanaugh in the CBS drama ‘The District,’ appearing in episodes of ‘Faith and Hope,’ and starring as Judge Kay Woodbury in Hallmark’s ‘Ordinary Miracles,’ which premiered in May 2005.
Jaclyn’s memorable appearance at the 2006 Emmy Awards caught the attention of Bravo TV, who then cast her as the host of their reality competition show, ‘Shear Genius’. The show first aired in March 2007, and a second season followed in June 2008.
Jaclyn has recently been seen on popular TV shows like ‘Law & Order: SVU’ and ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, and also starred in the Hallmark movie ‘Bridal Waves’.

In 1985, Jaclyn launched her line of women’s clothing and accessories, selling it exclusively at Kmart stores.
She was the first to realize celebrities could create and sell their own product lines, instead of just appearing in ads for other companies. Since then, over 100 million women have bought clothing or accessories from her brand.
In February 2007, Jaclyn started collaborating with Trend/Fabricut, a major global supplier of home textiles, to create a unique line of fabrics and trims.
Jaclyn began selling her home decor collection, starting with bed and bath items at Kmart in September 2008. Since then, she’s expanded her line to include things for outdoor living, general home furnishings, and seasonal decorations.
In October 2008, Jaclyn Smith teamed up with Paula Young and her longtime friend, renowned hairstylist José Eber, to launch a new hair fashion line called STYLE by Jaclyn Smith.

In 2010, Jaclyn teamed up with her husband, Dr. Brad Allen, a well-known medical researcher, to create a line of high-end skincare. They developed cleansers, moisturizers, and protective products designed to be simple to use and work together seamlessly as part of a daily routine.
Smith released a new clothing collection in 2022, and you can now find it at Nordstrom Rack and HSN.
The actress, who has been featured as one of the world’s most beautiful people in several magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, TV Guide, and People (twice!), feels very lucky. She says her career has always been fulfilling, but her family is the most important thing to her, and she wouldn’t change a thing.
Her husband, Brad, and their children, Gaston Anthony and Spencer Margaret, are her focus and what motivates her. She says, ‘My greatest joy is with my family’.
