The outrageous reason behind Andre Agassi’s luscious locks after the former Grand Slam champion, 55, sent fans wild with throwback snap

While most people remember Andre Agassi as a great tennis player, he recently surprised his followers with an old photo he posted on Monday.

The tennis star, a seven-time Grand Slam winner, posted a photo with his wife to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary.

Andre looked very different than usual, sporting a full head of shoulder-length hair instead of his signature shaved head.

Although many people think Andre had naturally great hair, he actually started losing his hair when he was only 19 and wore a wig for years.

In his autobiography, Open, the athlete revealed he wore a wig for several years to conceal his receding hairline.

He confessed the wig actually cost him a major championship, as an issue with it disrupted his focus during the 1990 French Open final.

In his book, Andre described his hair loss as feeling like a loss of self. He explained that each morning, he’d wake up to find more and more of his hair – and a piece of who he was – gone, left on the pillow, in the sink, or washed down the drain.

I wondered if I really wanted to wear a hairpiece, especially while playing tennis. Then I realized, what other choice did I have?

After reaching the semi-finals of both Roland Garros and the US Open in 1988, and the US Open again in 1989, the athlete was considered a strong contender to win future Grand Slam tournaments.

He was optimistic heading into the French Open final the next year, but later confessed a problem with his hairpiece caused him significant distraction during the match, ultimately leading to his loss against Andres Gomez.

He explained that a disaster struck the night before the match. While showering, his wig unexpectedly fell apart.

‘Probably I used the wrong hair rinse. I panicked and called my brother Philly into the room.

“This is a mess!” I exclaimed. He examined it and suggested we try holding it together with hair clips. We ended up using twenty of them. “Do you think this will actually work?” I wondered. He replied, “Just try to stay still.”

Before the game, while warming up, I said a prayer. It wasn’t for winning, but hoping my hairpiece stayed put.

Every time he jumped, I pictured the ball landing in the sand. I could almost see millions of viewers leaning forward, their eyes glued to the screen, wondering how Andre Agassi had lost his hair – a question they’d be asking in countless languages.

In 1995, Andre finally felt confident enough to stop wearing a wig. That same year, playing with his shaved head, he achieved an incredible victory, winning Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Australian Open.

In 1999, he achieved a career Grand Slam, a feat no male tennis player had accomplished since Rod Laver – meaning he won all four major tournaments.

I was so touched to see Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf celebrating 24 years of marriage! He posted a sweet old photo of them with their Wimbledon trophies, and it just reminded me how amazing their love story is. It was a lovely way to mark the occasion.

Andre held the trophy for the Men’s Singles champion, and his wife, whom he married in 2001, held the Rosewater Dish awarded to the Women’s Singles champion.

He shared a recent photo of himself with his partner, showing them smiling happily for the camera. The couple are parents to Jaz, 22, and Jaden, 24, and appeared very much in love.

Andre shared a post celebrating 24 years of marriage with Steffi, writing, ‘Happy Anniversary to my wonderful wife, you are my unicorn!’

Fans were quick to react to the photo, flooding the comments with praise. Many wondered if Stephi was getting younger, while others called the couple ‘the best ever’ and celebrated their anniversary, with one fan sharing that they are the reason they fell in love with tennis. Several commenters noted she appears to be aging gracefully.

Even though Andre and his previous partner broke up in 1992, he later married Brooke Shields from 1997 to 1999. Eventually, he found lasting happiness with Steffi.

The actress revealed earlier this year that her ex-husband had previously made a hurtful comment about her body, disguised as a compliment.

In her new memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old, she discussed her relationship and revealed how her experiences as a model led to struggles with her body image.

I was really hurt to read in her new book that I was directly told I didn’t have the body type for the runway – basically, I wasn’t skinny enough. It was a harsh thing to hear, and she shared it so openly. People magazine reported on it, and it just felt really raw to see it written down.

She wrote about being labeled as just a pretty face, and how that made her feel like only her appearance mattered. She felt disconnected from her own body, as if it didn’t belong to the person everyone saw – ‘Brooke Shields,’ the public image.

She recalled telling Andre about these inner thoughts and insecurities.

Shields recalls that whenever she shared her insecurities with her first husband, he would respond by telling her he wished she could see herself through his eyes.

Honestly, I asked him – it was so silly, looking back – “Will you still love me if I get big and fat?” I didn’t even really say it like that, I just meant, what if I got pregnant! It was totally unfair to even ask, I know, but I couldn’t believe what he said next. I really, truly didn’t expect it at all.

Brooke claimed that Andre told her, ‘I love you too much to let you get big and fat!’

The Pretty Baby star admitted in the book that it was a response that she didn’t expect.

Shields said she was completely surprised and briefly felt disoriented, according to the report.
