Garena has just announced the Free Fire OB51 update, rolling out on October 29th! This update includes exciting new content like a new character, a new weapon, updated characters, and fresh game modes like Flame Arena and Craftland. There are also weapon adjustments and other improvements, so let’s take a look at what’s new!

Free Fire OB51 update: Key Highlights

Introducing Nero, the latest Character

This update introduces Nero, an incredible character who survived a deadly freeze and now has the power to control dreams. His special ability, Dreamsmith, creates an area that stops enemies from using Gloo Walls and continuously damages anyone caught inside, pushing them out of cover.

You can deal additional damage, hinder enemies, and even knock them off balance. With Cryo Mind, you launch a durable plushie with 150 HP that remains active for 12 seconds. It bypasses obstacles, automatically targets the closest enemy, and then explodes, creating an area of effect.

Within this area, players can’t use Gloo Walls. Enemies will slowly lose health each second until the plushie is defeated. The player who destroys the plushie will then be highlighted for a short time.

Flame Arena

The brand-new Flame Arena is here, adding a fun new element to Battle Royale and Clash Squad! In Battle Royale, you’ll be given a team banner that flies in the sky, and your goal is to destroy the other teams’ banners by eliminating them.

I really enjoy the new in-match announcer; it’s great how they highlight team eliminations and important events. Plus, as the match goes on, the Flame Zone takes over from the usual Out-of-Zone, and a Flame Trophy appears in the sky, displaying the banners of all the teams still in the game.

Clash Squad now features random team banners, just like the enemy team. When a team is about to win, a special Flame Zone and Flame Trophy will appear. You’ll also enjoy the updated CS Store with a Flame Arena theme, a redesigned spawn area, special Cyber Airdrops, and a brand-new flame-themed Booyah animation!

Craftland

We have some exciting news for creators! The Craftland Creator Center is now available, giving you a central place to manage your accounts and publish maps to different servers and regions. You can also track detailed performance data for your maps and see how much storage they’re using.

This update also includes the Performance Editor, a robust tool for creating captivating story performances. It gives you detailed, timeline-based control over everything from objects to sound effects. And don’t forget to explore Craftland – it’s packed with helpful resources!

New Loadout System

On October 29th, we’re launching a revamped Loadout system! The original eight loadouts are being replaced with four new options in both Battle Royale and Clash Squad: Team Booster, Enhance Hammer, Tactical Market, and Super Leg Pockets.

Character Adjustments in Free Fire OB51 update

The latest Free Fire update, OB51, includes changes to several characters. Ford’s ability to heal has been tweaked, making his Iron Will skill less effective. Additionally, Kairos now deals slightly less damage to shields and armor with his Defense Breaker skill.

Rin’s Kunai will be more powerful with a faster launch speed and increased damage. In addition to Rin, Ignis, Santino, Tatsuya, and Thiva have all been adjusted. Also, you can now see skill and device cooldowns in the game.

New Weapon, Adjustments, and more in Free Fire OB51 update

New Weapon: Winchester

This update includes a new rifle called the Winchester. It fires in bursts of two shots and is very mobile, making it ideal for fighting from a distance. Reloading is done in stages, allowing you to load multiple bullets at a time, and you can improve the rifle’s damage using Upgrade Chips.

Optimization for Upgradeable Weapons

The new update includes changes to weapons. Upgradeable weapons will now have two progression paths: one based on damage and another on chips. Their overall power and how they function are also being tweaked. Specifically, the M60, FAMAS, M14, M4A1, SCAR, AUG, MAC10, MP5, M1014, and Kar98k can all be upgraded.

HP Loss after Knockdown Adjustment

Okay, so they’ve tweaked how long you take damage after getting knocked down. It now depends on what weapon did the knocking – they’re trying to make things more balanced so every gun feels fair. Also, when you’re crawling while downed, you’re a little faster now, which is nice. Just a heads-up though, if you’re using Rafael, the amount of damage you take while downed hasn’t changed.

Weapon Balance Adjustments

The Parafal rifle is now more powerful and its bullet trajectory has been adjusted. Plus, the Thompson SMG will now appear in airdrops, and its upgraded version, the Thompson-X, is also available to find in the game.

Several weapons that can be upgraded, including the SCAR and SCAR-1, are getting improvements. However, the Mini Uzi pistol is being adjusted to be more balanced – its accuracy will be slightly reduced in the next update.

Battle Royale and Map Adjustments in Free Fire OB51 update

Battle Royale Updates

  • Loot Distribution Adjustments: They’re being adjusted so that everyone can enjoy steady gear growth instead of finding top-tier gear too quickly. You can find various changes in Air Drops, War Chests, Vending Machines, Revival Weapons, and other loot distribution stuff via the official post.
  • Advanced Revival Point: The new Advanced Revival Point will now provide you with the benefits of the Super Revival Card, including treasure chests with extra rewards.
  • Upgradable Arsenal: You can soon get even better loot by spending coins to upgrade the arsenal. Plus, both standard and Defense Arsenals are upgradable.
  • Waypoint Feature: A new waypoint feature is coming with this patch, which will add a route-marking option on the mini-map. It lets you set up three waypoints.
  • Weapon Rack: From this update onwards, fixed Weapon racks are available in every area.
  • Gloo Mushroom: By interacting with the new Gloo Mushroom, you can rapidly increase your Gloo Wall regeneration speed.
  • Gloo UAV-Lite: You can now use the new Gloo UAV-Lite to increase the durability of your walls, making them harder to break.

Map Changes

The Solara map, originally added in the 8th anniversary update, has been tweaked and improved. Changes include new tent designs with two entrances, redesigned areas on higher ground, and adjustments to the speed of the slide rails in the Hub area of CS mode, among other updates.

We’ve also made several other improvements, including more precise landings with the Launch Pad, removed the Hitmarker setting from the information menu, better feedback when you land a headshot, changes to the CS Store, price updates, improvements to Lone Wolf mode, and more. For a complete list of changes, please see the official announcement.

Other system updates

The game now includes portrait mode, customizable portrait templates, and the ability to hide your backpack, weapons, and pets for a cleaner look. You’ll also see emotes play back in both the game itself and when viewing replays. Plus, a new tournament system is available through the Esports section, where you can sign up for various competitions.

We’ve added even more improvements! These include a customizable HUD, a page recommending V-Badge presets, custom rooms and recruitment features for Social Island, optimizations for Fairgame, and new content for the 2026 ranked season, plus other exciting additions.
