Will TLPH achieve the first Golden Road in MLBB esports?
Wow, I still can’t believe what happened! Team Liquid PH absolutely dominated Aurora Gaming, ending their incredible 15-game winning streak and taking home the MPL PH Season 16 championship! Everyone thought Aurora was on a roll and couldn’t be beaten, so this was a huge upset and a really exciting finish to the season.
TLPH turned things around when it counted, breaking through RORA’s defenses and winning the final match with a classic teleport play by Lou Yi. This victory keeps their hopes alive as they advance to the M7 World Championship.

MPL PH Season 16 Grand Finals: Team Liquid PH extinguishes the burning light from Aurora Gaming
Honestly, a lot of us were surprised when RORA actually made it to the playoffs in MPL PH Season 16! After their disappointing early exit last season – especially since they were so strong during the regular season – we weren’t sure they could pull it off. It was a real shock to see them qualify!
The team also started strong in Season 16, entering the playoffs with a 13-1 record. This time, they advanced further, coming within one win of a perfect 16-win season and the championship. Fans had high hopes, believing this season might finally be the one where the team truly succeeded.
RORA didn’t have the outcome they hoped for. Team Liquid PH dominated the grand finals, winning convincingly with a 4-0 sweep. The scores clearly showed their victory: they won the games with kill counts of 21-6, 20-8, 13-2, and 8-6.
RORA had a fantastic run, winning 15 matches in a row, but they started to struggle during the championship finals. They were ultimately defeated by TLPH, bringing the MPL PH Season 16 to a close. Now, all the teams are heading back to analyze their performance and plan for the future.
Trekking the Golden Road, one step at a time
After their recent match, Team Liquid PH discussed their pursuit of the ‘Golden Road’ – a huge achievement they’re almost ready to complete. They need just one more win, at the M7 World Championship, to reach this impressive goal.
So, our manager, Mitch Liwanag, says we’re not rushing things. We’re really focused on playing consistently well, and honestly, making it to the Golden Road would be awesome, but it’s not our main priority right now. We’re taking it one step at a time!
We’re not prioritizing completing the Golden Road right now, but we’d certainly be proud to achieve that title. We’re focusing on each step as it comes, and as the team said, we’re not rushing things – we’re sticking to the right approach. We’ll ensure the players give their best effort, and we’re confident we’ll get there eventually, according to Liwanag.

The TLPH Spider Strategy: The hungrier they get, the bolder they become
Everyone knows the incredible story of Rodel “Ar Sy” B. Cruz. He went from selling goods on the street to becoming a head chef, and now he’s a valued coach for Team Liquid PH. With a chef on the team, people expected them to have amazing meals before the MPL PH Season 16 grand finals, but surprisingly, that wasn’t what happened.
Coach Ar Sy shared that the team hadn’t eaten anything before the match, excitedly jumping in to tell everyone. This sparked laughter from the room, and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano chimed in, jokingly comparing the team to spiders: “We get stronger when we’re hungry!”
The team is understandably thrilled and still buzzing after their amazing win – they swept the competition!
Golden Road? No one has ever done that in the history of MLBB!
Why is everyone talking about TLPH potentially achieving a Golden Road at the M7 World Championship? It would be a historic first – no team has ever done it before in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports.
ONIC Indonesia is the team closest to completing a ‘Golden Road’ – winning all major tournaments. Since adding Kairi Rayosdelsol to their roster in 2022, they’ve dominated the competition, winning every tournament except the M4 World Championship.

The team’s incredible winning streak started in MPL Indonesia Season 11 and continued with victories at the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023 and MPL ID Season 12. They were on the verge of achieving the ‘Golden Road’ – winning every major Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament – and just needed to win the M5 World Championship to complete it. However, AP.Bren (now Team Falcons PH) defeated them in a tough seven-game series, ending their streak and preventing them from claiming the championship title.
Team Liquid PH’s performance at the upcoming M7 World Championship is incredibly important for two key reasons. Firstly, they’re continuing their quest for the Golden Road – a rare accomplishment that very few teams have almost managed to achieve.
This also brings up the question of whether a region outside the Philippines can finally win the world championship. Since Indonesia’s EVOS Legends won the first championship, every title since then has gone to a Filipino team. Now, with the upcoming M7 tournament, everyone is wondering if the Philippines will continue their winning streak or if a new region will take the crown.
