David Beckham recently posted a sweet photo of his daughter Harper kissing him, after previously defending their close bond against criticism.
The 50-year-old soccer player shared a photo on Instagram that his wife, Victoria, had originally posted.
The Beckhams have often been the subject of public conversation about their family life. David Beckham, in particular, has sometimes caused disagreement by posting photos of him kissing his daughter, but he’s consistently stood his ground and done what he believes is right.
Victoria posted a cute photo of David and Harper after they had dinner with her parents, Jackie and Tony.
David has defended himself against criticism for kissing his daughter on the lips, sharing photos of them doing so from 2018, 2019, and again in 2023.
The athlete responded to his critics during a Facebook Live session on his official page while visiting Bangkok. He explained that he kisses all of his children on the lips, except for his oldest son, Brooklyn.

Although many people found previous photos of them kissing lovely and saw it as a sign of David’s strong connection with Harper, he also received a lot of harsh criticism, with some calling the post inappropriate.
David was surprised by the strong response to a photo of him kissing his daughter, Harper. He explained that he kisses all his children on the lips, though he admitted he doesn’t always do so with his son, Brooklyn.
Brooklyn was only eighteen at the time, so he might have been a bit surprised, but I’m a very loving parent. That’s just how I, and Victoria, were raised, and it’s how we parent our kids now.
The former England captain explained that they want to provide their children with love, protection, care, and support.
David spoke enthusiastically about being a father, saying that having children is the most wonderful experience life has to offer.
Victoria, similar to David, has shared photos before of her kissing Harper while they swam together on vacation in 2017.
Last January, David faced criticism after sharing a photo of him kissing Harper, who was ten years old at the time.
Similar to other reactions from fans, people shared their opinions in the comments. Some called the photos ‘beautiful’ and supported the celebrity, while others felt the pose wasn’t appropriate for her age.

People commented online, expressing discomfort with a father kissing his adult daughter on the lips. They urged him to stop, calling it inappropriate and unhealthy. Many pleaded with Victoria to ask him to stop, emphasizing it wasn’t a good behavior.
I understand that love between a father and daughter is natural and okay, but I don’t think kissing your daughter on the mouth is a good way to show it. It feels a little strange to me, and that’s just my opinion. There are many other ways to express love.
While some people reacted with hesitation, many others praised the affectionate act. Social media comments included messages like, ‘This is so sweet!’ alongside predictions of negative reactions from those who disapprove of kissing children on the lips, with many defending it as a normal and loving gesture.
I kiss my teenage children, my son is 17 and my daughter is 16, and I can’t understand why anyone would have a problem with that. It’s a natural expression of love for my kids, and you seem to be the only person who finds it strange.
David and Victoria Beckham caused some friction with their neighbors in the Cotswolds after revealing plans for a new driveway to their £12 million home. The new road is intended to give them private access, avoiding the busy road currently shared with visitors to the popular Soho Farmhouse.
The homeowners have requested permission to pave a dirt track leading to their property, Maplewood Barn. They want to do this to keep away the large crowds of people who visit, hoping to get photos at the popular members club located nearby.
Let me tell you, this new proposal really isn’t sitting well with the neighbors – and honestly, it’s just the latest in a series of plans they’ve disliked around my home. It’s causing quite a stir, and people are definitely voicing their concerns.
At least one neighbor has objected to the proposal, arguing it would disrupt walkers and other people enjoying the countryside, who shouldn’t have to deal with large vehicles driving through the area.
The Beckham’s home near Great Tew is accessed by a single-lane road, which is also the only route for visitors to the nearby Soho Farmhouse. This exclusive retreat offers a countryside getaway to its members, who pay around £250 monthly for access to facilities like swimming pools, a health club, and activities such as clay pigeon shooting.
Especially during the summer, lots of lesser-known celebrities and people in the media flock to the area to unwind and make connections. Their expensive cars all travel along the same, and currently only, road leading to the Beckhams’ secluded home.
Now it seems they have finally had enough.
The couple has requested permission from West Oxfordshire District Council to create a second driveway to their property using an existing farm track.

They plan to build an extension of the driveway, linking it to the road, and improve the lowered curb and gates leading onto Ledwell Lane.
The Beckhams explained in their application that getting to Tracey Lane is difficult because it’s a dead-end street with a lot of traffic, which they consider unsafe.
The council is currently reviewing these plans, but they’ve already faced opposition from local residents.
Joan Lane, who lives in Great Tew, said: ‘I must strongly object to this proposal.
The house already has a perfectly good driveway, so it’s unclear why a new paved road is being built through the woods.
People enjoy walking along this lane, and it’s important to keep it peaceful by not allowing large vehicles to drive on it. We urge you to reject this application.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen a lot of home renovations, and when I reviewed the plans for the Beckhams’ project, their team described it as a really thoughtful and understated conversion. They wanted something that blended in beautifully and wasn’t over the top – a truly sensitive design.
The proposed changes would slightly improve the Ledwell Lane crossing and gates to make it safer for people living in the area.
The improvements address practical needs like functionality, safety, and comfort, all while preserving the area’s rural beauty, historical significance, and natural landscape.
The Beckhams’ spokesperson said they want to keep the property looking natural and understated, and if they add lighting later, it will be very subtle.
A decision will be made by West Oxfordshire District Council on the latest plans at a later date.
