Vicky McClure’s “ruthlessly tense” crime thriller is back on TV tonight – don’t miss out

The popular crime drama Trigger Point, starring Vicky McClure, is back on television tonight. The show, praised by Vogue as “ruthlessly tense,” centers around the dangerous work of a bomb disposal team.

The show returns to ITV tonight at 10pm, after being off the air for a year and a half – don’t forget to tune in!

Okay, so in the new episodes, my girl Lana Washington and the team are dealing with a bomb threat. It’s not just a one-off thing though – it turns out someone’s got it out for a bunch of people and is actively trying to get revenge. It’s a pretty big, scary plot!

The actor recently shared that in season 3, Washington’s character will grapple with the lasting impact of PTSD.

She explained to The Hollywood Reporter that, given everything her character went through in the first two seasons, it was important to show how she was coping with the trauma and grief from those experiences and the loss of loved ones.

Lana has always lived with the effects of PTSD, but it wasn’t usually a central issue. This time, we’re focusing on it more directly. We also looked into the possibility that she was experiencing tinnitus.

The people around her – like Sonya Reeves, Hassan, and Danny – realize she’s going through a difficult time, but she keeps to herself and doesn’t share what’s bothering her.

McClure also discussed the turning point for Lana, wondering when she’ll finally reach a breaking point or decide to seek help. He questioned what the consequences of either of those choices might be.

The actor will be back for season 3 with returning cast members Eric Shango, Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson, and Maanuv Thiara. Jason Flemyng is also joining the show this season.

Good news for fans: Season 4 of Trigger Point is already filmed and ready to go, having been shot at the same time as Season 3. So, we can expect more episodes in the future!

Just a heads-up for my fellow gamers – Trigger Point is back tonight on ITV1 at 10pm! If you missed the first couple of seasons, they’re all up on ITVX now, so you can catch up before the new episodes air. Definitely worth checking out if you like a good thriller!
