Jeff Brazier, 46, admits ‘history is repeating itself’ but shares his excitement to be a grandad as son Freddy, 21, prepares to welcome baby

Jeff Brazier noted a sense of déjà vu this weekend as his oldest son, Freddy, gets ready to become a father himself.

The 46-year-old presenter shared his joy about becoming a grandfather, noting how much his 21-year-old son Freddy reminds him of himself. He explained that he became a father at 23 and understands exactly what Freddy is going through.

Freddy shared last month that he was going to be a dad, as his former partner, Holly Swinburn, was expecting. They’ve since gotten back together.

Jeff remembered that he and Jade Goody hadn’t known each other very long when she became pregnant.

It still breaks my heart to think about Jade. She was taken from us so young, passing away in 2009 after a battle with cervical cancer. It was devastating, especially for her sweet boys, Freddy and Bobby, who were only four and five years old at the time. It’s just unimaginable what they went through.

I’m absolutely thrilled to hear he’s going to be a grandfather! He told The Sun he’s really excited, and it’s lovely to know they’ve been working on building a close relationship with Holly and her family. It sounds like everyone is keen to support the new parents and be there for them as a united front, which is just wonderful to see.

You know, it’s funny when I look back at my life and Jade’s. We both became parents pretty quickly into our relationship, without having known each other for very long. And it makes me realize, history really does repeat itself – my own mum was very young when she had me too! It’s a bit of a pattern, isn’t it? It definitely makes you think about family and the cycles of life.

If I had the chance to redo things, I would try to relax a bit more and not worry so much about everything being perfect. I realize now that the result doesn’t have to depend entirely on me.

Freddy recently revealed he’s expecting a child with a former girlfriend. This news comes after a difficult year for him, marked by a falling out with his grandmother, Jackiey Budden, who he had been living with following a strained relationship with his father.

After the announcement of the new baby, the family has reconciled, and Jeff has expressed his commitment to always support Freddy.

Freddy recently shared in an interview that he’s currently experiencing homelessness, just a few months before his first child is due. He also mentioned he’d like to name his daughter after his late mother, Jade, if he has one.

He told Closer magazine that he doesn’t have a permanent home right now. He’s currently staying with friends, moving from place to place, and really enjoying it. He says he’s happy sleeping on sofas and air mattresses.

He also hopes to honour his late mother Jade with his child’s name.

He’s considering the name Jade for a baby girl, though he admits it’s a bit of an impulsive thought. He might explore other options, but he feels a strong connection to the name Jade and isn’t ruling it out.

Freddy and Holly had a short, rocky relationship that ended in arguments. However, reports suggested they later talked about trying to work things out and potentially having a child together.

Oh my gosh, you guys, they were together! After everything, they totally put on a show of unity at the Pride of Britain awards – they walked the red carpet at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on Monday, and it was everything! They looked so good together, it was like nothing ever happened. I was absolutely losing it!

I just loved seeing Holly! She looked radiant, really showing off her baby bump in this gorgeous, fitted yellow dress. And it was so sweet to see Freddy with his arm around her – they’re such a lovely couple!

I’m so glad to hear that Jeff has an amazing support system! Everyone close to him – family and friends – is really stepping up and promising to be there for him in any way he needs. It’s incredibly heartwarming to see how much they care.

As a lifestyle expert, I know so many people were charmed by Freddy and his dad on ‘Celebrity Race Across the World’ last year, so I’m sure this baby news will be wonderfully received by all their fans! It’s lovely to see such a heartwarming story continue to unfold.

The pair were seen arguing about his and brother Bobby’s upbringing during the 30-day trek.

Jeff angrily left the room after Freddy said they weren’t a close family. Their father responded, frustrated, asking what he’d been doing for the past seven or eight years and telling Jeff he needed to take accountability for his actions.

A friend shared with The Mail on Sunday that Freddy was completely shocked by the news, but it has unexpectedly reconnected him with his father. It’s heartbreaking, though, that Jade isn’t around to witness this positive change.

Jeff was among the first people he turned to for advice, and Jeff immediately offered to help in any way possible.
