Honestly, it feels like every night, late-night hosts are talking about something new happening in the world, and a lot of it keeps coming back to President Trump. Lately, it’s been about his decision to add a ballroom to the White House! They’ve actually started building it, and it’s caused a lot of controversy – politicians, celebrities, everyone seems to have an opinion. I’ve been watching, and Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Seth Meyers all talked about it on their shows, which was pretty interesting.
Jimmy Fallon Makes Jokes About President Trump’s Renovation Plans
Jimmy Fallon generally avoids politics on his show, but he’s recently been commenting on President Trump’s activities. On a recent episode of The Tonight Show, Fallon joked about the ongoing renovations at the White House. He pointed out that the cost of the president’s ballroom project – which involves demolishing part of the East Wing – is already higher than expected. In a clip shared on YouTube, Fallon said:
Donald Trump has increased the projected cost of his new ballroom by $100 million, bringing the total to $300 million. Many Americans are responding with a sense of shared experience, noting that even the president can face unexpected expenses during home renovations.
Jimmy Fallon joked about President Trump’s plans for a new ballroom, particularly Trump’s comment about connecting it to the White House with a “glass bridge.” Fallon quipped that a glass bridge seemed especially odd, imagining women in formal gowns walking across it. He also made a joke about the list of donors to the ballroom – which included companies like Amazon and Apple – suggesting it wasn’t the list people were actually interested in, alluding to the list of clients associated with Jeffrey Epstein.
Stephen Colbert Skewers President Trump’s Ballroom Ambition
Stephen Colbert on The Late Show also offered his commentary on the ballroom situation. He addressed the news in a segment he jokingly called “Trump Smash 2025,” sharing a video clip on YouTube. Colbert primarily focused on the damage to the East Wing and how officials allegedly tried to block journalists from taking pictures, explaining the details as follows:
The East Wing of the White House was in a complete mess this morning – it looked like it had been torn apart. The administration was clearly aware of this, which is why the Secret Service closed off the nearby Ellipse park. Journalists had been filming the damage from the park, and now the administration can avoid scrutiny by claiming any damage happened on its own.
Colbert’s recent comments, including his criticism of certain donors, came after The Late Show was cancelled. Despite this, and even though President Trump publicly celebrated the cancellation, Colbert has continued to openly criticize the President. While the show’s end marks a shift in late-night television, Colbert remains determined to finish strong next spring.
Seth Meyers Shares His Thoughts On President Trump’s Ballroom
Seth Meyers recently discussed the White House ballroom and the future of late-night television. He also commented on the demolition of the East Wing, joking that the construction might mean President Trump doesn’t intend to leave office in 2028. He shared his thoughts in a video compilation available on YouTube.
I really doubt he intends to move out in three years. If I were still committed to a lease for that long, I wouldn’t bother making any improvements to the place.

There’s still a lot of discussion about the planned renovations to the White House ballroom, and some people are wondering if they’re really needed. It’s unclear how the construction will move forward, and we can expect continued commentary from the media as the project develops.

YouTube TV: $82.99 a Month
Okay, so I’m seriously thinking of ditching cable, and honestly, YouTube TV seems like the way to go. As a total TV fanatic, I need my late-night shows, but I also want to keep up with news and sports, and it’s got all the big channels I’m used to. I’m checking out their deal right now!
As a big fan of late-night comedy, I’m happy to know that The Tonight Show and Late Night will still be on NBC every weeknight. And for those of us who prefer The Late Show, it’s staying on CBS! The best part is, if you cut the cord, you can still catch all three shows with a YouTube TV subscription – it’s a win for everyone!
