Heiress Lou O’Neil welcomes second child with husband Jake and reveals the newborn’s adorable name

 Lou O’Neil has welcomed her second child with husband Jake.

The stylish socialite announced on Instagram last Friday that she welcomed a baby girl a week prior.

She posted several photos documenting the first week of her baby’s life, including a sweet picture of Jake carrying their daughter home from the hospital in a car seat.

Another photo showed Lou, positively glowing, as she cradled the sleeping bub on her chest.

A third image showed son Otis, 2, watching over his baby sister as she slept in her cot.

Captioning the images, Lou revealed her daughter’s sweet name.

She shared on Instagram that she’d been dealing with something for a week, signing her post with her full name: Ophelia Maria O’Neil.

Lou posted a sweet video of Jake and Otis lovingly interacting with Ophelia, and wrote, ‘My whole life right here’ to capture the special moment.

The post received a lot of supportive messages from friends, family, and fans, including Deborah Symond O’Neil, who is the sister-in-law and heiress to the Aussie Home Loans fortune.

She shared a string of red ribbon emojis with a simple: ‘Beautiful girl.’

Fashion influencer Elle Ferguson enthusiastically commented, ‘She’s beautiful! Congratulations, new mom!’

London-based Aussie entrepreneur Hermione Underwood also offered her heartfelt congratulations.

‘Hi baby girly,’ she wrote. ‘You can’t imagine how happy you’ve made mummy.’   

In June, Lou announced she was pregnant on Instagram, posting photos of herself with her growing baby bump.

She was photographed standing beside a beautifully decorated table. A bouquet of pink peonies and a matching pink candle were displayed in the middle.

The photo captured the couple smiling happily, and Jake looked like a very proud father.

Lou and Jake welcomed their first child, Otis, back in 2023.

She announced the birth of her son, Otis Donald O’Neil, sharing a cute video and revealing he was born on November 17th.

The couple also hosted a lavish gender reveal party in May of that year.

Lou posted a video of when she and Jake found out if their baby was a boy or a girl, and they had family there with them.

She opened the sliding doors and saw a pile of blue ribbons, announcing the couple was expecting a son.

The party’s decorations were designed by The Make Haus. Guests were given either blue or pink ribbons to wear, allowing them to predict whether the baby would be a boy or a girl before the big reveal.

A year after getting married at the historic Carthona mansion in Sydney’s Darling Point, the couple announced they were expecting their first child.

The nuptials were a coming together of two of the country’s wealthiest families.

Jake O’Neil works at Addenbrooke, the family company. He’s the second oldest son of Denis and Charlotte O’Neil, who own a marina in Rose Bay and are successful in the superyacht brokerage business.

Lou is the daughter of the late Donald Hay, brush pioneer and founder of Hayco.

Jake and Lou originally dated in high school before reuniting in 2020.

As someone who follows these things, let me tell you, Lou isn’t the first person from outside the family to find love – and wealth – with an O’Neil. It’s a pattern I’ve definitely noticed!
