Mel B hadn’t been seen publicly for a while, but she was spotted on Thursday shortly after her former partner, Jimmy Gulzar, posted a strange series of messages online targeting David Beckham.
Oh my god, can you BELIEVE this?! So, remember Corné, Mel B’s ex-husband? Well, everyone’s making fun of him now! Apparently, he’s furious with David Beckham because David supposedly copied his style – everything from what he wears to his love of cooking and even his tattoos! And Corné is letting everyone know about it in these seriously cutting posts online. It’s just… everything David does, Corné claims he did first! I’m living for this drama, honestly.
Mel hasn’t responded to her ex’s Instagram post, but she did share on TikTok that she’s been removed from the Spice Girls’ group chat.
Mel B, 50, playfully showed off her legs in a red and black striped dress while jokingly posting about a disagreement within the Spice Girls. She wrote that she was returning to the group chat after being temporarily removed for mentioning another potential tour.
The celebrity looked very different from her stylish appearance in the video on Thursday, choosing to hide her face with sunglasses and the hood of a white sweatshirt.
She went with a relaxed look, wearing a white hoodie with grey tracksuit bottoms decorated with stars, and topped it off with a brown camouflage puffer jacket.
She finished her outfit with camo sneakers that coordinated with her coat and added an olive green bag as an accessory.
This follows a social media post by Mel’s ex-partner, Jimmy, who challenged the former footballer to be honest and claimed he was experiencing memory problems, sparking confusion among followers.
Jimmy posted a long message on Instagram Wednesday, stating that David copied several things from him – including the iconic sarong he wore at the 1998 World Cup, his passion for cooking, and even some of his tattoo designs.
He said he’d interviewed to be one of David’s stylists, but didn’t get the position, and wasn’t sure why.
People online quickly made fun of Jimmy’s claims, with many commenting things like, ‘Is that it? He copied your style and that’s newsworthy? What are you trying to achieve?’
‘For David Beckham to acknowledge you because he wore a sarong once? Get a life dude.’
People also commented things like: ‘So, after everything, you’re just upset he imitated your look?’ and ‘Wait, David Beckham copied me? I thought there’d be a better story.’
Jimmy concluded with a message on Thursday: ‘Honestly, I’m not worried about what anyone thinks. I’m confident in what I believe.’
I don’t really mind if people are inspired by my work – in fact, I take it as a compliment. But David went above and beyond, completely imitating it.
He explained that David wants everyone to believe he invented his own unique look, and to achieve this, he needed Jimmy’s help with his style. Essentially, David wouldn’t be a style icon without Jimmy Gulzar.
It’s difficult to understand why David is downplaying this. If it wasn’t a big deal, why the secrecy? Is he afraid people will find out he built his image using the work of a Black artist? He needs to accept responsibility for that.
He stated that the boy constantly sees his influence when he looks in the mirror. He believes this man simply imitated him, taking credit for everything he learned and copied from him to become who he is now.
Jimmy recently claimed he’d worn a sarong nearly identical to one David wore while out with his wife, Victoria.
The tour was going incredibly well, and everyone was really enjoying themselves. We did a lot of shopping while on the road, maybe a little too much, especially with all the popular brands like Gucci, Prada, and D&G. Each of the dancers also brought their own unique energy and style to the performances.
We enjoyed checking out each other’s new outfits and fashion choices. Plus, we sometimes shopped with female friends when we were in different cities.
We were all dressed to impress! While in Paris, Sean Paul Gaultier’s shop was a must-see.
That summer was really hot, so I was wearing light, breezy clothes – sandals and a sarong. I also remember it being the year of the World Cup. As far as I recall, David got sent off during a game and then came to Paris to visit Vicky.
I learned from Mel that David was available the next day because Vicky and Mel were busy.
Vicky asked David to pick up some things, and he was planning a shopping trip anyway. He invited me to come along, so I joined them. It was the first time David and I really had a chance to talk and laugh together. We got everything Vicky needed and then checked out the Gaultier store.
David loved my sarong and asked for one of his own, so we got him one too. Many of you might recall the photo of him wearing it with sandals back at football camp.
Jimmy then said that David had been disrespectful to Claudio, an Italian tattoo artist who had given both him and Mel tattoos at their wedding.
The dancer said David asked Claudio for a tattoo, which they arranged. However, David reportedly refused to let Claudio take a picture with him, fearing the dancer would sell it to the newspapers.
Jimmy mentioned he has a tattoo of angel wings on his back, and says David saw it and liked it before getting the same tattoo himself.
Okay, so he said he has this gorgeous lettering tattooed on the inside of his arm, and get this – David got lettering done in exactly the same place! I mean, seriously, the same spot? It’s just… everything about it is perfect and makes me think they’re totally connected. I’ve been staring at pictures trying to figure it all out!
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Jimmy told me – and I nearly fainted – that he and Mel had David and Victoria Beckham over for dinner, like, multiple times! And get this – he cooked for them! Apparently, he made them shrimp pasta, and they absolutely loved it! Can you even imagine? Posh and Becks enjoying a meal made by Jimmy?! I’m living for this!
Shortly after that, I read in the newspaper that David was making shrimp pasta for Vicky. He’s become a real inspiration in the kitchen. He actually told me that before he met me and saw me cook real meals, the only thing he knew how to make was a boiled egg!
Jimmy previously claimed David was distorting the truth about his history, particularly when discussing his challenging relationship with Mel and their daughter, Phoenix Chi.
Jimmy hinted that he now had some information and thought he could explain why David wasn’t being honest and was attempting to cover up the past. He admitted he wasn’t sure of David’s motivations.
