Team Tidebound has made some changes to its lineup: coach bLink is leaving, and Yao is back playing competitive Dota 2 after a four-year break.
Team Tidebound has been known for having some of the Chinese Dota 2 players who took the world by storm. This includes ex-Wings Gaming members such as Zhang “Bach” Ruida and Zhou “bLink” Yang. Unfortunately, after a poor result at The International 2025, the team was destined to see some changes. However, nobody really expected one of these to be the return of Yao “Yao” Zhengzheng to the competitive Dota 2 realm, let alone Team Tidebound.
The old guard still stands strong as Yao joins Team Tidebound

Team Tidebound didn’t have a particularly strong 2025, but they did show significant improvement. After entering the competitive scene earlier in the year, they steadily progressed and achieved a notable win at the Clavision Masters 2025: Snow Ruyi just before The International. Despite performing well in Hamburg, Germany, they finished in seventh or eighth place. Shortly after, on October 1st, Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang announced his departure, and just weeks later, two more players also left the team.
TT announced on the team’s X account that both bLink and Bach are leaving the team.
Thank you all for your dedication to the team. Last season, we experienced many ups and downs, ultimately making it to The International. Although there are regrets, we will never forget the days we fought side by side. May your future journey be ever bright and exciting.”
Next, they announced some new players, including their former assistant coach stepping into the position 3 role. But the biggest news was signing Yao “Yao” Zhengzheng to Team Tidebound. Yao has never won The International, but he’s been a consistent competitor since the beginning, with a history of nearly winning, much like Wang “Ame” Chunyu. Despite not taking the top prize, Yao’s Dota 2 results are still very strong.
Yao last played a significant role in competitive Dota 2 with EHOME in 2021. Although he recently coached a smaller team called Tearlaments, he’s best known for his loyalty to his organizations and is now embarking on a new opportunity with Tidebound.
The full new Team Tidebound roster is:
- Guo “shiro” Xuanang
- Xu “Echo” Ziliang
- Li “niu” Kongbo
- Lin “planet” Hao
- Zhang “y`” Yiping
- Yao “Yao” Zhengzheng
Team TT will be competing in PGL Wallachia Season 6 in mid-November with their updated lineup. It will be a key test to see how quickly the team, featuring a new coach and some new players, can gel and perform.
