Electronic Arts has announced that it will stop supporting The Sims Mobile on January 20, 2026. The life simulation game, which first came out in March 2018, has received over fifty updates in the past seven years and its final update has now been released. EA is effectively ending the game’s service after a successful run.
The Sims Mobile is ending service on November 4, marking the end of an era
Most people are familiar with The Sims Mobile, the popular life simulation game inspired by The Sims 4, originally created by Maxis. For those who haven’t played, the game lets you design individual Sims, construct homes, form families, and guide their lives.
Hey everyone, it’s with a really heavy heart that I’m sharing some news about The Sims Mobile. After seven amazing years and so many updates – over 50, can you believe it? – the game is going to be shutting down. On January 20, 2026, at 1:59 PM UTC, we won’t be able to play anymore. It’s so sad! They’ve also stopped letting us buy anything in the app right now, which makes sense I guess. It’s been a great run, but it’s time to say goodbye.

The Sims Mobile team recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the game will be discontinued on November 4th. They expressed hope that players will enjoy a final update and use the remaining time to complete goals and cherish their experiences with the game.
Events will continue to run till the end, but no refunds will be provided
The game has been taken off app stores and you can no longer make purchases within it. However, you can still use any SimCash, Simoleons, or Tickets you already have until the game officially ends. The latest update gives you unlimited energy so you can enjoy playing until then.
Beginning January 6, 2026, all items in Build Mode and Create A Sim will be immediately available to all players – you won’t need to unlock them with levels anymore. Current in-game events will finish as planned, letting you earn Simoleons and rewards, but purchases made during those events won’t be refunded.
It’s really disappointing to see a game so many people enjoyed end like this, particularly because it had such a dedicated fanbase. The stop in new updates and events earlier this year suggested this might happen. A lot of players were also upset that there was no way to play without an internet connection, with one fan saying it felt like a waste of money they’d already spent.
