Joel Corry reveals he has cut down his friendship circle and ‘isolated’ himself at times to become a successful DJ as he poses shirtless on the cover of Men’s Fitness Magazine

DJ Joel Corry has shared that he’s intentionally kept a smaller circle of friends and spent time alone to help him achieve success in his career.

Singer John Legend, 36, displayed his fit body by posing without a shirt for the cover of Men’s Fitness Magazine.

In a recent interview, Joel discussed the challenges he’s faced building his DJ career and shared how he manages to stay fit despite his busy life.

I don’t share my work with many people. When it comes to music, I have a small group of trusted friends whose opinions I value. If I want feedback on something I’m creating, I know I can send it to them and they’ll give me honest, helpful criticism.

To achieve my goals, I had to distance myself from friends and my social life over the years. It required a lot of focus and commitment, which meant sacrificing social time and, unfortunately, losing touch with some people I cared about.

I just prefer to keep to myself and focus on my work. I’ve never been one for big social gatherings. I’m happy with a small circle of close, trusted friends and family – that’s all the connection I need.

Joel, a former professional bodybuilder turned DJ, also talked about how staying fit is crucial for his well-being and mental health during the interview.

He explained that working out is essential to who he is. It’s not just about fitness; it defines him. He feels it sets the tone for his entire day, and once it’s done, he truly feels like himself – Joel – and can start moving forward.

I definitely feel down when I miss workouts, whether it’s due to travel or just a busy schedule.

These days, the biggest benefit of my workouts isn’t physical – it’s mental. It’s helped me improve as a DJ and producer, and honestly, it’s made me a better person overall.

The award-winning artist explained how he manages to stay fit while constantly traveling and performing around the world.

Joel explained that staying fit is extremely important to him. He always makes time to exercise, often waking up very early to go to the gym before interviews. He finds this helps him feel mentally prepared and actually improves his performance.

Staying fit definitely helps me physically, but it’s also incredibly important for my mental well-being. Working out really grounds me and keeps me centered. It’s easy to find a gym almost anywhere – there’s usually one just an Uber ride away – and I always prioritize making time for it.

In 2023, Joel previously stated he wasn’t looking for a relationship, saying he didn’t have room in his life for one. However, he later revealed he is now dating Coco Lodge from Love Island.

He also shared his worry that his demanding job might prevent him from starting a family.

Joel recently shared with Unfiltered that his career makes it difficult to maintain a relationship, and he prefers to avoid the complications that come with one right now.

He admitted that relationships are difficult and require significant compromise. He’s been single for six years now and feels he simply doesn’t have room in his life for one.

I’m completely happy with my career path and don’t feel like anything is lacking in my life. I’m so focused and dedicated to what I do that I don’t crave anything else.

I’m content with my current work and really don’t want anything to interrupt me. Achieving my goals requires intense concentration, and I need to avoid distractions.

‘I know I need that tunnel vision, that laser focus, to make this happen.’

He explained that relationships require effort. Having been in relationships before, he recognizes his lifestyle is quite self-centered, as he’s frequently traveling.

My life is a constant whirlwind of travel – I’m practically on a plane every day. I’m completely focused on creating music and preparing for performances, and honestly, I just don’t have any extra time or energy to give to a relationship right now.

When asked about his plans for the future, including starting a family, Joel explained that his mother frequently asks him when he’ll settle down. He jokingly responded that it’s hard to think about settling down when he’s constantly on tour.

I do think about having a family sometimes. It’s something most people want, and I’m no different. However, I’m very focused on my current goals, and it’s just not the right time for me to consider it.

I’m too focused on my career goals and ambitions right now to consider anything else. I have a lot I still want to accomplish, and it’s taking all my energy.

Right now, I’m completely focused on my current work, and I’m not thinking about what the future holds.

Coco publicly confirmed her relationship with Joel in August after secretly dating for several months. She shared two photos of them together on Instagram following a romantic week spent in Ibiza.

According to a source, Coco and Joel began dating earlier this year. They share many interests, including a love for fun, music, staying active, and traveling.
