Masters of the Universe 2 Teased by Star, Details Stunt Work

Camila Mendes has shared an exciting update about the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.

As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about the new Masters of the Universe film! It’s being directed by Travis Knight and is a collaboration between Mattel and Amazon MGM Studios. It’s slated to hit theaters next summer, and the cast is looking amazing! I’m especially thrilled to see Sofia Boutella as Teela, alongside Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Jared Leto taking on Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, and Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms. It’s shaping up to be a fun ride!

What did Camila Mendes say about Masters of the Universe?

Speaking with Variety, Mendes shared some new insights about Masters of the Universe.

She shared that this project had always been a dream of hers, especially the chance to do a superhero movie. She’s passionate about fitness and wanted a role where she could utilize that side of herself, which she definitely got with this film. It was a physically demanding experience where she learned a lot about her body, nutrition, and training, and she felt completely comfortable and empowered. Beyond the physical aspects, she loved the story itself and praised the film’s excellent balance of humor and seriousness. She believes audiences will really enjoy it.

You know, working with Michiel Huisman as He-Man was amazing. He’s genuinely a really nice guy, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what he did with the role – it’s truly special. I got a front-row seat to his whole transformation! We spent two months together in London, training like crazy every single day. It was a real team effort, and I was right there with him through it all.

I was so excited to hear Mendes talk about the action in the movie! She said she had some really big stunts to learn, and she spent months training for them. She called it a super intense process, which honestly makes me even more hyped to see it all on screen!

When questioned about her commitment to multiple Masters of the Universe films, Mendes remained tight-lipped, saying she couldn’t reveal any details. However, she expressed optimism that more movies could be made, stating, ‘We’ll see what happens.’

Masters of the Universe arrives in United States theaters June 5, 2026.
