JoJo Siwa and boyfriend Chris Hughes pack on the PDA as they make red carpet debut after unlikely reality show coupling

JoJo Siwa and her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, publicly showed their affection for the first time on the red carpet at the Dancers Against Cancer Gala in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old singer, known for his song “Karma,” and the 32-year-old former reality TV star showed off their affection with kisses and hand-holding on the red carpet.

The couple, who found love on the reality show Big Brother UK earlier this year, happily kissed each other on the cheek while posing for photos.

The Dance Moms star, recently seen crying onstage, looked stunning in a black dress featuring a dramatic bow at the waist.

The dress was sleeveless and featured a delicate pearl neckline with sparkling crystal details. It also revealed a glimpse of her distinctive tattoo – a winged teddy bear.

Many viewers were surprised by the developing romance between JoJo and Chris, who connected on a reality TV show. During the show, JoJo shared that she’s moved away from identifying as a lesbian and now feels the term ‘queer’ better describes her identity.

On Tuesday, JoJo finished her outfit with black pointed-toe heels. She styled her long blonde hair with braids and silver highlights.

Meanwhile Chris was effortlessly stylish in a brown polka dot button-up and wide-leg white pants.

Dancers Against Cancer is a charity that helps dancers facing cancer by providing them with financial assistance.

This follows JoJo’s recent enthusiastic statement that Chris’ parents feel like her ‘future in-laws,’ especially after his whole family came to support her concert in Birmingham.

JoJo told the crowd she had some ‘guests of honor’ in attendance for the show.

I was so thrilled to see Chris there supporting JoJo! He even surprised her with flowers backstage, which was incredibly sweet. He was sitting with his family – his parents, Val and Paul, and his brother Ben – and JoJo’s parents, Tom and Jessalynn, were right there with them. It was a really lovely family moment and showed how much support she has.

The show then cut to JoJo acknowledging Chris’ parents were in the audience, playfully promising she’d be on her best behavior.

She asked Val to wave to everyone, saying, ‘Can we get a good wave from up there?’ She then explained to those who didn’t know that Val is the mother of her son, the person who brings her the most joy.

‘I’m very delighted to have the guests of honor tonight, Val and Paul Hughes everyone.’

You know, I was really trying to be on my best behavior during the show, and I even announced it to the crowd. But let me tell you, they weren’t having it! The booing was instant and pretty intense – it was a moment, that’s for sure. It just goes to show, sometimes even your best intentions aren’t enough to win everyone over, and honestly, I kind of expected it!

JoJo quickly responded, explaining, ‘Hey everyone, my future in-laws are here, so I need to keep things relatively calm tonight.’

Before the concert, Chris unexpectedly gave JoJo flowers backstage. He explained he decided to attend the show on a whim, as he wouldn’t be seeing her for a while.

This follows JoJo’s clarification that she isn’t straight, after being asked about her sexuality. She explained that being in a relationship with her boyfriend, Chris, doesn’t change the fact that she’s also dated women in the past.

She’s openly discussed being attracted to people regardless of gender, and has been in relationships with women. More recently, she developed a connection with Chris, a star from Love Island, while they were both on Celebrity Big Brother in April, and now describes herself as queer.

JoJo has said she received a lot of negativity from the LGBTQ+ community after she started dating someone of the opposite sex, even though her relationship is now thriving. She described the hate as ‘extreme’.

During an interview on Sirius XM’s Smith Sisters Live, she revealed that people close to her are unaware of the intense negativity she’s faced from within her own community.

Look, my relationships don’t define my overall stance on inclusivity. I might be with a man right now, but that doesn’t put me in a box. And honestly, even if I were to identify as straight, that wouldn’t change my commitment to being an ally. Supporting the LGBTQ+ community isn’t about who I’m attracted to; it’s about standing up for what’s right and creating a more accepting world for everyone. It’s about being a good human, regardless of my own preferences.

JoJo explained that she is attracted to men and in a relationship with one, but she doesn’t want her previous relationships or experiences to be dismissed because of her current preferences.

I first fell in love with a woman who was also my best friend, and we had a wonderful relationship. Since then, I’ve been with other women, a non-binary person, and now I’m in a relationship with a man.

She described her love as unlike anything she’d ever felt, saying he made her feel special and that their connection felt meant to be. She called falling in love with him the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

The singer also shared that Chris has always accepted and supported her for who she is, remembering how he quickly stood up for her during her time on Celebrity Big Brother when Mickey Rourke made offensive homophobic remarks.
