Ryan Adams labels Australia the ‘worst country ever’ after trainwreck tour and vows NEVER to return: ‘Stew in your own juices’

After a difficult tour in Australia, Ryan Adams has publicly criticized the country and stated he will never perform there again.

The 50-year-old American rock star was touring the country to mark 25 years since the release of his first solo album, Heartbreaker. However, he quickly made headlines due to strange outbursts during shows and arguments with both fans and staff.

The musician recently made harsh comments about Australia in a now-removed Instagram post from October 16th. He criticized both his fans and the country, accusing Australia of simply imitating American culture, and stated he would never return.

He posted a thumbs-down emoji with the Australian flag and wrote, “Worst country ever to play in.”

‘Thank f**k never again. You are the worst people and you know it,’ he continued.

Mandy Moore’s ex-husband publicly expressed his strong dislike for Australia in a dramatic outburst.

He advised against trying to emulate American and British culture, suggesting instead that people focus on their own traditions and avoid repeating past mistakes. He concluded with a firm ‘Never again’.

Ryan’s Australian fans quickly expressed their disappointment with his harsh words.

One fan reacted with disgust, saying, “Telling the people who paid to see his shows that they’re the worst is awful.”

‘I went to the Perth show and am now personally offended,’ they continued.

‘I’m offended and I don’t even live in Australia. What a douche,’ another added.

‘I’m done. I can no longer separate the man from the music I loved for years,’ wrote one more.

‘You stopped being relevant over six years ago,’ they added.

The singer is well-known for his energetic and sometimes wild performances. He famously had a fan removed from a concert after the fan asked him to play Bryan Adams’ hit song, ‘Summer of ’69’.

Last week, Ryan left audiences alarmed during a performance in Melbourne.

The singer-songwriter suddenly stopped his performance at Hamer Hall following a series of strange outbursts, unfinished songs, and heated arguments with both the audience and venue employees.

Ryan noticed the negative comments online and responded to some of them, acknowledging he regretted his actions and felt embarrassed by his behavior.

He went on to blame his on-stage meltdowns on seizures triggered by flashing lights.

‘I am so wildly embarrassed and disappointed about last night,’ he wrote.

When I’m performing on stage, iPhone and Android camera flashes suddenly go off in the dark. Because the environment is completely black, I can’t anticipate when they’ll happen.

Over time, if I experience too many of these events, I have a visual seizure. During these seizures, I become confused, lose my sense of place, and even forget what my guitar is – it’s very disorienting and frightening.

He explained that the instinct to either fight or flee really resonated with what he was going through – the desire to avoid a seizure. He shared that he experienced this multiple times the night before while performing for an audience of 2,500, which was deeply upsetting because he felt the show was going so well.

He went on to say he loved everyone and was truly sorry. He emphasized that no one had done anything wrong, and that taking photos, even with flash, was perfectly fine. He explained he’d dealt with this issue his whole life, and it made performing live difficult because he couldn’t keep his eyes closed the entire time while playing music.

Ryan’s comments about his ex-wife, Mandy Moore, were seen by many fans as negative and disorganized, and they disrupted what had been a good concert. His remarks seemed to worsen the situation.

His sudden angry words brought attention back to the difficult history between him and his ex-partner. They divorced publicly in 2016 after being married for seven years.

Arts Centre Melbourne confirmed the concert was organized by TEG MJR, and they’ve passed along all audience complaints to the promoter.
