Furious fans slam Mariah Carey’s ‘lifeless’ Fridayz Live set and accuse singer of lip-syncing and barely moving on stage: ‘She looked really sad’

Australian concertgoers expressed their disappointment with Mariah Carey’s performance at the Fridayz Live RnB festival in Sydney on Saturday night.

The popular 56-year-old singer headlined the yearly music concert, performing her most famous songs for a large crowd of thousands at ENGIE Stadium.

Fans were disappointed with Mariah Carey’s performance, describing it as flat and lacking energy. Many wondered why she didn’t seem to be fully engaged during the show.

One concert attendee shared with Daily Mail that they were deeply upset for the performer, describing her as looking both sad and sick.

I was too down to buy a T-shirt for her, so I got one for myself from Fridayz instead. It seemed like she wasn’t actually singing live and kept leaving the stage during the performance.

People then wondered if the singer, who has won six Grammy Awards, was well enough to perform that night.

I couldn’t really understand what she was saying, and I wouldn’t go to her concert even if I had to pay. It’s not that I want to be unkind, but I’m genuinely concerned she isn’t doing well and needs to take care of herself, they explained.

Observers noticed Mariah seemed unusually stiff during her performance. It appeared she had difficulty moving and fully opening her eye, and she kept adjusting or checking her earpiece throughout.

‘She didn’t look comfortable. I’ve since seen she has arthritis and that makes sense.

She seemed really uncomfortable and closed off. She barely smiled and avoided eye contact with the audience, mostly looking down as if reading the words to the song.

Someone else commented online, saying the performance was difficult to watch and they left before it finished.

‘Why is she walking in slow motion?’ a different fan asked.

Now 56, Mariah has moved away from the high-energy acrobatics and dancing that were hallmarks of her performances. She now generally stays front and center on stage while performing.

Mariah isn’t moving around as much on stage as she used to, relying more on her backup dancers to fill the space.

Daily Mail has contacted event host Fridayz Live for comment.

Tickets for Fridayz Live range from $200 to $500, and the show will also feature performances by Pitbull and Jordin Sparks.

Some people reportedly left during Mariah Carey’s concert in Brisbane on Friday night, but it’s unconfirmed if they left for good or just briefly stepped away, perhaps to use the restroom.

However, there was one moment during her performance where Mariah had the Aussie crowd in stitches.

While filming took a pause, Mariah sat down and pulled out a jar of Vegemite, the popular Australian spread. Some of her fans quickly guessed what she was about to do.

The singer tasted the dark liquid with a teaspoon, and even a big fan of Vegemite would have found the flavor strong.

The audience clearly reacted to what was happening, with many shouting ‘That’s too much!’ as the Grammy-winning artist got ready to take a bite.

She didn’t heed the warnings, however, and slipped a sizeable portion gingerly into her mouth.

She quickly wished she hadn’t said it. Mariah looked out at the audience, shaking her head slightly, and delivered a flat, unimpressed ‘No’.

She then proceeded to walk to the back of the stage to discard the offending item.
