Strange Antiquities (PC, Switch, £14.99)
Verdict: An easy sale
Forget everything you know about polite antiques shows. This game, a follow-up to the fantastic Strange Horticulture from 2022, is a delightfully spooky and bizarre experience.
Strange Antiquities deposits you, once again, in the creepy old town of Undermere.
This time, you’re running an antiques store instead of a plant shop. It’s full of unusual items – things that glow, bear ancient symbols, and even have traces of blood! Your task is to sell all of these strange objects.
Now let’s get to the heart of the game. The town’s eccentric residents will visit your shop looking for magical items to help with their daily problems – things like breaking curses or earning favor with a serpent deity.

You’ll need to figure out which of the strange objects is the right one by carefully considering what your customers have told you, any available information, and what you can observe yourself.
Okay, so Strange Antiquities? It’s totally become this amazing puzzle for me, like I’m a detective, but a really chill one. The puzzles get trickier as you go, which I LOVE. And the best part? If I mess up a guess, I don’t just *stop*. I get another try, and another! If I *really* get stuck, there’s this cute little dice game that lets me reset everything and start fresh. It’s perfect, honestly. I can’t stop playing!
Players of Strange Horticulture will immediately recognize the gameplay in Antiquities. While very similar, Antiquities might do a better job of making you feel the impact of the outside world and its increasing dangers within your shop.

Even though your job keeps you in one place, you’ll feel like you’re experiencing so much more.
If you don’t enjoy this amusing, slightly creepy, and calming game, simply place the glowing stone under your pillow overnight. It’s guaranteed to help!
Little Nightmares III (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC, £34.99)
Verdict: Little different
The most positive thing you can say about Little Nightmares III is that it delivers exactly what you expect: another Little Nightmares game. And surprisingly, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
The first two Little Nightmares games are truly unique horror experiences. They feature odd, scruffy child protagonists and blend the whimsical style of Tim Burton with unsettling, macabre environments. Despite the gloomy atmosphere, the games are surprisingly playful and enjoyable to play.
This new installment perfectly captures the feel of the original games, which is especially impressive considering it’s the first one not developed by Tarsier Studios, but by Supermassive Games. It successfully builds on everything that made the first Little Nightmares games so enjoyable.

However, Little Nightmares III feels too similar to previous games in the series. It doesn’t really offer anything new or different, which makes you question the need for another installment.
The new cooperative mode is one possibility, letting you pick between two characters – Low, who uses a bow, and Alone, who wields a wrench – and team up with another player online. However, the characters are quite similar in gameplay, and the co-op feature feels unfinished, so it’s unclear if it actually improves the game.
It’s disappointing, because the game shows flashes of brilliance—particularly in a disturbing carnival level—of what the developers could create if they truly embraced their creativity. Hopefully, future installments of Little Nightmares will be bolder and more ambitious.
