Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sparked relationship rumors this week after being seen getting cozy on a yacht.

The Mail on Sunday published photos of the 40-year-old singer kissing the 53-year-old politician on a boat near Santa Barbara, California.

Rumors of a romance between the two started circulating in July after they were seen enjoying a private dinner in Montreal. However, neither of them has confirmed or denied the relationship.

Justin Trudeau’s father, Pierre, was a popular Canadian prime minister for 16 years, serving from 1968 to 1984, and was known for dating several famous women.

When Pierre became leader, he was unmarried and famously dated actresses Barbra Streisand and Kim Cattrall.

Katy isn’t the only celebrity who’s dated someone in politics, so here’s a look at other stars who’ve had unexpected romances.

Kim Cattrall

Kim Cattrall, known for her role in Sex and the City, reportedly had a relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau in 1981.

The actress once described him as incredibly attractive, noting he was quiet, intelligent, and very sensitive.

In 2016, CBS had to issue an awkward apology after mistakenly identifying actress Kim as the mother of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

While Justin was being interviewed on 60 Minutes, a picture of him with his father, Pierre, appeared on screen as the interviewer discussed his mother, Margaret.

I remember seeing this photo for the first time and being so fascinated! It was taken back in 1981 when the actress was out on a date with the Canadian prime minister at the time. It’s such a cool piece of history!

Barbra Streisand

Before his relationship with Kim, Pierre was also involved with Barbra Streisand, starting in the late 1960s.

The actress was 27 years old and her partner was 50, a significant age difference she later cited as the cause of their breakup.

In her memoir, *My Name Is Barbra*, Barbra Streisand wrote about meeting him for the first time in 1968 at the premiere of her movie, *Funny Girl*.

Montel Williams

In 2001, talk show host Montel Williams and Kamala Harris, who later became Vice President of the United States, were a couple.

And get this – she and Montel Williams were photographed together in Ebony and Jet magazines! They went to some fancy gala in Los Angeles, and it was just *everything*. She was identified as his girlfriend in both outlets.

The Daily Mail published video footage of Kamala Harris walking the red carpet with Sean Williams, holding his hand, and then posing for photos with her arm around his waist.

Cheryl Hines 

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve always been fascinated by interesting couples, and Cheryl Hines and Robert Kennedy Jr. definitely fit the bill! They’ve been happily married since 2014, and it’s lovely to see their relationship continue as he serves as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.

They married in a low-key but starry celebration in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.

The bride’s dress was reminiscent of Jackie Kennedy’s style, and guests enjoyed a delicious meal of steamed lobster and a traditional clam bake. Singer Natasha Bedingfield then performed her popular song, ‘Unwritten,’ for the couple.

According to sources who spoke with the Daily Mail, Cheryl is still dealing with the emotional fallout from last September, when her husband was involved in a public scandal involving inappropriate messages with a much younger woman. This incident led to rumors of a divorce.

Let me tell you, from what I’m hearing, Cheryl is seriously considering a big life change. She’s prepared to trade in her glamorous lifestyle for the demands of being a political wife. Apparently, she’s ready to move to Washington D.C. – specifically, the Georgetown area – right away, all to be closer to Bobby and keep a watchful eye on things. It’s a huge commitment, but she seems determined!

Sheryl Lee Ralph 

Sheryl Lee Ralph tied the knot with Democrat Senator Hughes in 2005 after two years of dating. 

The actress and her husband are living separately, but they don’t seem concerned about it.

When asked about the public’s reaction to the news, Hughes told Entertainment Tonight he was surprised, saying, ‘We’ve been making it work with a long-distance relationship since the start, and it’s been great!’
