Lady Kitty leads belles of the ball as London hosts its own rival to New York’s Met Gala

Lady Kitty Spencer turned heads at the British Museum last night with her stylish pink outfit, making a rare appearance in London.

Lady Kitty Spencer, the daughter of Charles Spencer and Princess Diana’s niece, turned heads at the first-ever British Museum Ball in a striking corset dress.

Over 800 people came to the British Museum’s fundraising event, which organizers hope will become as famous as New York’s Met Gala and a similar highlight of London’s cultural calendar.

Many paid up to £2,000 a ticket to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.

Lady Kitty was joined at the event by her sisters, Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza, who both wore dresses in shades of pink.

The dress code features pink, inspired by the vibrant colours of India and designed to complement the museum’s exhibition on Ancient India and its living traditions.

Lady Kitty, age 34, stayed warm against the cool autumn air with a feathery shrug while walking the pink carpet. She completed her look with a floral necklace and earrings.

Kristin Scott Thomas, known for her role in Slow Horses, turned heads in a gold dress. She was joined by Jerry Hall and former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, accompanied by his wife, Akshata Murty, who wore a dress by Emilia Wickstead.

Maya Jama, the host of Love Island, wore a dress by Richard Quinn, while Laura Carmichael, known for her role in Downton Abbey, chose Erdem.

Grayson Perry and his wife, Phillipa, were also among the guests, along with London Mayor Sadiq Khan and his wife, Saadiya.
