Jennifer Lopez is known as one of the hardest-working people in Hollywood. She’s successfully transitioned from a singer to a major movie star, showing her versatility in films like *Selena* and *The Boy Next Door*. And, of course, she’s famous for her beloved romantic comedies. She just finished filming another one for Netflix, called *Office Romance*, co-starring Brett Goldstein, and her description of the movie, referencing classic films, was fantastic.
Everyone’s excited about the new romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez, which was written for her by the writers of *Ted Lasso*, Brett Goldstein and Joe Kelly. However, details have been scarce! So far, we only know the title, *Office Romance*, as a trailer hasn’t been released yet. Luckily, Lopez recently shared a few hints during an interview with Andy Cohen on *Watch What Happens Live*. When Cohen mentioned how much fans love her rom-coms, she responded with:
I’ve got something exciting coming your way! It’s a different kind of romantic comedy than Jennifer Lopez usually does – less sweet and more… playful. Think along the lines of movies like *Knocked Up* or *There’s Something About Mary* – it’s got a bit more of an edge.
I’m trying not to get too excited, Jennifer Lopez! It’s hard to follow up a hilarious comedy like *There’s Something About Mary*, and I hope her new Netflix movie lives up to the hype. Comparing it to a Judd Apatow classic sets a high bar, but Jennifer Lopez is a rom-com star herself, with plenty of great movies under her belt, so she might just deliver.
She does make a valid point. Jennifer Lopez has proven she can handle a variety of roles, from serious dramas like *Hustlers* to sweet romantic comedies like *Maid in Manhattan* and *The Wedding Planner*. But fans haven’t really seen her star in an outright, over-the-top funny comedy. I think she’d be perfect for that type of romantic comedy, and even when her acting isn’t deliberately comedic, she still manages to be funny.

The 10 Best Jennifer Lopez Movies, Ranked
It’s still unclear if the movie will be funny, but Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel clearly have great chemistry together, both on and off screen. People on set said they couldn’t stop flirting, and Lopez even told others Duhamel gave her the best on-screen kiss of her career. Considering she’s worked with leading men like Matthew McConaughey, Richard Gere, and Josh Duhamel over the years, that’s high praise!
Let’s be honest, Brett Goldstein is incredibly charming – his accent and intensity had me captivated even just listening to him read lines, and it looks like I’m not the only one who feels that way, as you can see in the photos.

I’m glad Jennifer Lopez enjoyed making this film, and I’m excited to see what she and the rest of the cast deliver. It would be great to see her play a character who’s both romanced and involved in some raunchy comedy, kind of like the humor we saw in movies like *Knocked Up* and *There’s Something About Mary*. I’m anticipating the release of *Office Romance*, likely sometime in 2026, and anyone interested in watching will need a Netflix subscription.
