Oh my gosh, I just read that Toni Laites is *still* finding it hard to believe Love Island is over! She said it all feels so unreal, and honestly, I totally get it – being on that show must be insane! She admitted it hasn’t been easy adjusting back to normal life, and my heart just breaks for her. I mean, imagine going from all that drama and excitement to… well, *this*! I just want her to be okay and happy!
The 24-year-old American reality TV star, who was the first from the U.S. to win the British version of the dating show, shared a heartfelt video on social media about the difficulties she’s been going through lately.
Hey everyone, so I’ve been meaning to share this for a while. I was trying to film a fun ‘get ready with me’ video or tell a story, but I decided it was better to just be real with you all. I wanted to let you in on what’s been happening with me over the last few months, so here’s the truth.
I never imagined that taking a waitressing job in Las Vegas one ordinary Monday would lead to me being on – and winning – one of the UK’s most popular reality TV shows, especially as the first American contestant to do so.
‘I am so grateful that you guys have put in the position that I am, but it hasn’t been easy.’
I was really shocked to hear Toni say that things have been tough since the show wrapped. She actually confessed she’s been basically living out of temporary places – couches, mostly – and she thinks the Airbnb she’s staying in now is her seventh one! It’s just so sad to hear she’s been struggling like that.

It’s been tough constantly traveling without a proper visa. This has prevented me from working, settling down, and creating the content you enjoy daily, but I’m working on resolving the situation.
Despite her difficulties, the reality favourite thanked her followers for sticking by her.
She continued: ‘I can’t thank you all enough for loving and supporting me every step of the way.
I’m really working on reconnecting with the person you all enjoyed watching – the one you got to know and love over those eight weeks. I want to bring that version of myself back.
She continued, explaining that she’s not used to this level of attention and asked for understanding. She admitted she cares a lot about how people see her and really enjoys the excitement of being recognized by fans – like when they call out to her from their cars.
Toni shared that becoming famous has been a lot to handle, explaining, ‘It feels really strange. I went from being a waitress to attending red carpet events and meeting celebrities I used to only see online.’
Looking back on how quickly things changed, she said, ‘I started this show with very few followers – only about 3,000 – and no presence on TikTok. It’s amazing that almost a million people are following me now!’
I’m really trying my best, so please be patient with me. Things are tough right now, but I appreciate all of your support so much. Thank you for everything.

Jessie Wynter, who joined the winter season of the show from Australia in 2023 and became a couple with Will, shared a message of support, saying it’s a lot to come off a TV show in another country and encouraging him to take as much time as he needs, sending him lots of love.
Pop duo Jedward sent a supportive message, encouraging fans to embrace all aspects of themselves and not feel pressured to constantly perform or meet expectations. They signed off with ‘Lots of love!’.
Whilst boyfriend Cach, also 24, didn’t comment, he did repost Toni’s heartbreaking video.
Oh my gosh, you guys, did you see this?! The Daily Mail said last month that they’re *already* planning a whole spin-off show for her! Can you believe it? Apparently, ITV is completely obsessed with her – just like the rest of us! – and she’s quickly become everyone’s favorite. I *knew* she was special, and now everyone else is realizing it too! I’m so excited for everything that’s coming!
As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing whispers that Toni might be taking her talents to Vegas! It’s still very early stages since she’s just left the villa, but there’s buzz about a potential spin-off show following her life as a cabana girl. It sounds like she’s got some exciting opportunities on the horizon!
ITV executives are very impressed with Toni’s lively personality and quick wit. They believe she has a promising career in television and will be discussing her future projects with her this week.
Daily Mail contacted ITV for comment at the time.
During her time on this year’s show Toni struck up a romance with Cach, who is from East London.

Toni and her partner appear committed to their relationship, frequently interacting on social media. Toni recently mentioned she intends to remain in the UK and is looking for a place to live, suggesting she’s building a future there.
The couple who won £50,000 shared their plans for the money, with Toni explaining she’ll use it to pay off her student loans.
She continued: ‘I want to invest it. I don’t want to go on some crazy shopping spree.’
Cach, a dancer from London, agreed with her, adding: ‘Cost of living crisis, I’ll save it!’
