I was so surprised to learn that Aaron Paul, best known for *Breaking Bad*, almost joined Christopher Nolan’s *Dark Knight* trilogy! He mentioned he was considered for a part – though it sounds like it would have been small – but unfortunately, he was already committed to another project at the time. He didn’t say which of the *Batman* films – *Batman Begins*, *The Dark Knight*, or *The Dark Knight Rises* – it would have been, but it’s still amazing to think he almost could have been a part of that world!
Aaron Paul, best known for playing Jesse Pinkman in Vince Gilligan’s show alongside Bryan Cranston, recently spoke with Screen Rant. While promoting his new video game, Dispatch, Paul also discussed a superhero role he almost landed. He explained that he was simply a big fan of director Christopher Nolan and really wanted to work on one of his films.
I met with Christopher Nolan some time ago, possibly while he was working on Interstellar. He offered me a very small part in one of his Batman films, but I had to decline because I was already committed to another project. It wasn’t a significant role anyway, so it didn’t bother me.
Batman is probably my favorite superhero. I like that he feels more grounded – he’s just a wealthy guy who uses his resources to fight crime. I enjoy Superman and all the other heroes too, and I love how the world of superheroes feels so imaginative and full of possibilities.
I recently rewatched The Dark Knight, and it got me thinking. I honestly just wish I could’ve been an extra for even 30 seconds in one of those scenes – it would have been amazing!
I always thought it was fascinating when Paul talked about almost being in The Dark Knight! It sounds like it would have been around the time Breaking Bad first came out in 2008. He said it would have been a small part, but imagine seeing him in a superhero movie directed by someone as amazing as Christopher Nolan – that would have been incredible!
When Is Batman Returning to the Big Screen?

Warner Bros.
Fans of the iconic Batman, the wealthy hero known for his bat-themed persona, will soon have two new movies to look forward to. Despite his enduring popularity, Warner Bros. hasn’t released a Batman film since *The Batman* in 2022.
James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe will introduce a new Batman, who is expected to reappear in a future installment of *The Brave and the Bold*. Additionally, the Batman portrayed in Matt Reeves’ films will continue in a separate series of stories called Elseworlds, with a sequel currently in development. *The Batman Part II* will further explore the Dark Knight’s world, maintaining the darker, more realistic style established by Reeves, and production is scheduled to begin around 2026.
