The Australian Open is famous for its incredible tennis, but it’s also become a major event for celebrities and a popular place to be seen.
This year’s tournament is attracting a lot of famous faces, including influential people from around the world, top Australian entertainers, and celebrated athletes, all watching the matches at Melbourne Park.
Bill Gates, the 70-year-old co-founder of Microsoft, was among the spectators at the tennis on Thursday. He watched the matches from good seats at Rod Laver Arena, but didn’t draw much attention to himself.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I just saw him! He was so…normal! He wasn’t wearing anything fancy, just a simple black polo shirt and glasses. But the best part? He had an official Australian Open lanyard! He was just there, blending in with all of us fans, taking it all in. It was amazing! I nearly died!
Eighty-year-old Sam Newman, a former Australian Rules football player and now a well-known TV commentator, was also present and seemed very focused on the action happening on the court.
A famous football player, wearing a simple blue T-shirt, was spotted in the stands with the fans at a highly anticipated game.
Comedian Andy Lee and his partner, Rebecca Harding, were also at the event, looking happy and relaxed as they enjoyed the show together.
Forty-four-year-old Andy dressed casually in a navy jacket and striped shirt, while thirty-four-year-old Rebecca looked stylish in a white tank top and sunglasses. The two were seen laughing and enjoying themselves while playing.
As a bit of a style and lifestyle enthusiast, I always notice who’s at these events! Veteran journalist Liz Hayes, looking incredibly chic in a cream blazer, really stood out to me in the crowd. She was completely engaged with the match from her seat – a true pro both on and off screen!
I was so thrilled to see Lesley Stahl at the match! She looked fantastic and genuinely seemed to be enjoying the game. It was great to see her just relaxing and being part of the crowd, like one of us, alongside all the other celebrities there.
I was so excited to see Andrew Gaze at the game! The basketball legend, who’s 60 now, was right there in the crowd. He really looked like he was just enjoying the game as a fan, which was awesome to see – a true Boomers captain at heart.
The athlete wore comfortable clothes and visibly showed his engagement in the game by leaning forward during critical plays.
31-year-old Australian Olympic runner Peter Bol was also in the audience, dressed in all white and enthusiastically supporting the players.
Bec Judd has been turning heads at the Australian Open this past week, and many are now calling her the ultimate ‘WAG’ – the wife or girlfriend of a sports star – thanks to her stylish outfits and appearances.
Chris Judd’s wife is likely spending a significant amount of money on her excellent seats at the tennis tournament in Melbourne.
A 43-year-old has been attending basketball games this week, and details about the expensive tickets have now come to light.
Tickets for seats right next to the court at Rod Laver Arena can cost as much as $20,000, and the best locations are already gone.
Bec found herself among a group of famous faces, including actor Gerard Butler and Michele Greene, who co-founded Jaggad, in her area.
The ticket price doesn’t just include an unrestricted view of the tennis court.
Guests can also enjoy a meal prepared by renowned chef Shimpei Raikuni of Brisbane’s Sushi Room, served in a private dining area.
As a huge fan, I can tell you one of the best parts of the experience is definitely the Piper Heidsieck champagne they serve! And to make everything even more seamless, they provide a chauffeur to get you to and from the event – it’s truly first-class.
