CTBC Flying Oyster and Anyone’s Legend are set to play an exciting match after both teams defeated top contenders in the tournament.

It’s not really a surprise to see these teams competing in Round 3 for a playoff spot, considering the strong performances CFO and AL delivered at the League of Legends World Championship 2025 (LoL Worlds 2025).

CFO unexpectedly beat T1, the current world champions. CFO, a team from the Pacific region, was considered a long shot, making their victory even more surprising.

Anyone’s Legend defeated Gen.G, the top-ranked team from Korea, a region widely considered the most competitive in League of Legends.

Winning this match guarantees a spot in the Playoffs. While Anyone’s Legend is currently favored, CTBC Flying Oyster has a chance to surprise everyone again.

A great year for CFO and AL

Following the launch of the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP), CTBC Flying Oyster quickly became the dominant team. They won all three splits of the 2025 LCP season.

What is even more important for this team is that CFO shone brightly at international events.

CFO finished 3rd–4th at the LoL First Stand 2025.
They reached the top 6 at the MSI 2025. It was Al who eliminated CFO back then.
The Esports World Cup 2025 was least successful for CFO, as they were 9th–10th.

As a big fan, I’ve been following Anyone’s Legend, and it’s amazing what they’re doing! They’re competing in China, which is known for having some of the best League of Legends teams *ever*. Seriously, the competition is insane, but AL consistently manages to finish in the top 3 – it’s really impressive!

At the Esports World Cup 2025, AL played in the grand final — but lost to Gen.G. Their match at the LoL World 2025 was quite a revenge!

On October 18th, the third round of the League of Legends World Championship Swiss Stage will consist of best-of-one matches between teams with one win and one loss. The following day, October 19th, teams with two losses will compete in elimination matches.

The tournament will resume on October 22nd and run through October 25th, with players continuing to advance and some being eliminated in the Swiss Stage.
