Guillermo del Toro’s new Netflix series, *Frankenstein*, premiered on October 17th and is based on Mary Shelley’s classic novel. The show stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as the Creature, and Mia Goth as Elizabeth.

The story centers around Victor Frankenstein, a gifted scientist driven to overcome death following his mother’s passing. He attempts to bring corpses back to life using electricity. After numerous unsuccessful tries, he finally succeeds in creating a Creature by piecing together body parts from various corpses.

The story explores a touching relationship between Elizabeth Lavenza and the Creature. While Victor shuns him, Elizabeth shows kindness and understanding. As their connection deepens, Victor begins to regret creating the Creature, recognizing it as a serious error.

Elizabeth tragically dies when Victor discovers her with the Creature. Filled with jealousy, Victor attempts to shoot the Creature, but Elizabeth is accidentally struck and fatally wounded in the struggle. She passes away with the Creature present.

Victor finally meets his death in the Arctic. After a long chase, he dies from his injuries while facing the Creature who pursued him. In his last moments, Victor expresses his remorse and asks for forgiveness, which the Creature gives.

Unlike earlier stories, the Creature doesn’t die or take his own life. Victor’s experiments leave him alive and immortal. After speaking with Victor one last time, the Creature finds a reason to keep living.
