As a movie and TV lover, it’s interesting to see how streaming services are trying to get bigger and better. Apple and NBCUniversal just announced they’re teaming up to offer both Peacock and Apple TV+ together. It’s another example of what used to be rivals finding ways to work together, which is becoming pretty common in the streaming world.
On Thursday, the two companies announced a partnership designed to attract and retain more subscribers. Customers can get Peacock Premium with Apple for $14.99 per month, or upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus with Apple for $19.99 monthly.
This change speeds up the trend of streaming services joining forces, as companies try to become stronger competitors to Netflix and Amazon Prime, both of which have extensive program libraries. Walt Disney is already combining its three streaming services with HBO Max, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
The bundled plans become available Monday.

NBCUniversal and Peacock will pay a total of $3.6 million as part of a settlement. This includes $1.5 million to Los Angeles County’s consumer protection agency, $100,000 to cover the costs of the investigation, and $2 million in penalties.
As a total movie and TV buff, I’m really excited about this new bundle! Apple’s basically making it easier than ever to watch all their amazing shows and films, and now even more people will have access. Oliver Schusser, who heads up Apple TV, explained they’re combining their fantastic originals with must-see live sports, and Peacock’s content too. It sounds like a really smooth and simple way to get a ton of great entertainment all in one place.
Apple TV+ will stream popular and critically acclaimed shows like “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” and “Shrinking.” Meanwhile, NBCUniversal’s Peacock service will feature live sports – including NBA basketball, soccer, and the Olympics – plus a wide range of TV shows like “Poker Face” and the “Real Housewives,” and movies for the whole family, such as “How to Train Your Dragon.”
NBCUniversal is also discussing acquiring the rights to broadcast Major League Baseball games starting next year, and Apple already streams baseball games on Friday nights.
This news follows a price increase for Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, which went up by $3 per month three months ago. NBCUniversal is owned by Comcast.
According to Matt Strauss, Chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group, Apple TV and Peacock together offer an unbeatable entertainment experience, combining top-quality shows, movies, sports, and live events from both services.

As a huge Disney fan, I’m so excited to see them really going after Netflix! It feels like everyone’s jumping into streaming now – HBO Max, Peacock, Apple TV+, even Quibi. Honestly, it’s getting pretty packed, and experts are saying not all of these services are going to make it. It’s a bit worrying, but I’m hoping Disney’s amazing content will keep them on top!
