It looks like Travis Mayer, 47, might have finally met someone who challenges him – social media personality Kat Stickler, 30.
Reports this week indicated that Mayer was actively trying to connect with TikTok star Stickler, and that he specifically reached out to her.
Neither Mayer nor Stickler has commented on the rumors about them dating. However, Stickler, a popular TikTok creator, posted a playful video on Tuesday letting her followers know she is currently single.
However, John Mayer’s friends are hoping he’s ready to stop having casual relationships and commit to a serious relationship with someone he cares about.
People close to John are hoping he finds romance, and they’re really rooting for something to happen between him and Kat, according to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail.
Rumors of a romance began circulating this week after the gossip blog DeuxMoi reported that the guitarist from Dead & Co. was seen with a popular social media influencer – who has a total of 14 million followers on Instagram and TikTok – at a private club in New York City.
The next day, they were photographed seemingly on a dinner date at the exclusive Flyfish Club.
Although they’re still early in the dating process, a source close to the couple revealed that both Mayer and his friends are hoping their connection develops into a long-term relationship.
Sources say he’s ready for a serious relationship and sees Kat as more than just a casual romance. It also appears Stickler is receptive to the possibility of something more with her.
People close to John, including his friends, think he’s developing strong feelings for her and would like to see their relationship become serious. His friends are eager to meet her and hope things progress.
It seems Mayer has moved on, as he was recently seen looking cozy with Stickler. This could signal a new direction for the singer, who’s previously been linked to many famous faces.
His first high-profile romance was with Jennifer Love Hewitt back in 2002.
Although many believed John Mayer’s song ‘Your Body Is a Wonderland’ was written about actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, he revealed in an interview on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast that it’s actually about a girlfriend he had in high school.
Mayer went on to date then recently-divorced singer Jessica Simpson from 2006 to 2007.
In her hit memoir, Open Book, the pop star shared the details of her complicated relationship, revealing that she and her partner broke up and got back together eight times before their final split in 2010.
She explained that Mayer’s notorious 2010 interview with Playboy—where he called her ‘sexual napalm’—was the final straw.
In 2008, Mayer briefly dated model Minka Kelly. Afterward, he began a relationship with Jennifer Aniston, who was nine years older than him.
I remember when they first got together – it was so exciting! They met at an Oscars party back in February 2008, and it seemed like a fairytale. They did have a little bump in the road after just six months, but thankfully they found their way back to each other in October. In the same Playboy interview, Mayer confessed he’d always regret their relationship with Aniston didn’t work out, but also suggested he wasn’t prepared to settle down at that time.

Speaking on the SmartLess podcast on June 12th, he revealed he’s been keeping to himself for a long time and mostly stays home. He jokingly asked, ‘Am I a good boy, America?’ and added that he isn’t currently seeing anyone.
Shockingly, Mayer also made the public declaration that he’s ‘absolutely’ ready for marriage.
He said he wouldn’t pursue a relationship unless he saw potential for it to lead to marriage, as he explained to Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes.
‘Every girlfriend would be a potential wife at this point.’
Mayer had mentioned wanting to get married and have children before, so this wasn’t a new development.
In 2021, he shared with Andy Cohen that having a family is his biggest remaining goal.
‘There’s one thing left and that’s wife and kids,’ he said on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy at the time.

The couple got married in 2019 and separated in early 2021. They are continuing to raise their four-year-old daughter, MK, together.
Before everything with Mayer started making headlines, I was really rooting for Hannah Stickler and Jason Tartick! They seemed so happy together, but sadly, they broke up in October 2024 after less than a year. It was a shock to a lot of us who followed their relationship.
