Jennifer Lopez confronts Howard Stern after years of him trashing her on-air

Jennifer Lopez recently appeared on The Howard Stern Show for the first time. This was notable because Stern had previously criticized her appearance, work, and personal life for many years.

Howard Stern has repeatedly made fun of Jennifer Lopez on his show. For example, in 2000, he criticized her dress at the MTV Awards, comparing it to a potato sack.

He also criticized her singing around that time, saying it sounded like karaoke and wasn’t very good, according to Alternative Nation.

Even as late as 2012, he continued to criticize her, calling her “the worst judge out there” while she was on American Idol.

He also made fun of her relationship with Ben Affleck back in 2003, describing it as both silly and genuine, according to the report.

Even after years of public disagreements, 56-year-old actress, known for her role in ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ appeared on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show Wednesday, putting on a positive attitude.

Lopez opened the interview by admitting, ‘I was always scared to come on the show.’

Fans were surprised to learn her reason wasn’t about his previous statements, but rather her own fear of saying something she’d later regret.

As it turned out, the two hit it off.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was absolutely glued to the interview! Jennifer Lopez was SO open, talking about everything – her love life, what it’s like being famous, even just getting older! And get this – she actually admitted there’s one movie she REALLY wishes she’d said yes to. I mean, can you believe it? She’s so real!

Howard started the interview by asking Jennifer Lopez if being famous complicated dating other celebrities, and she seemed to allude to her recent breakup with Ben Affleck.

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024, about two years after they got back together and married in July 2022.

The couple had originally dated and been engaged nearly 20 years earlier.

‘It’s difficult to be under that microscope,’ she agreed.

Howard pressed, ‘Does it seem like everything is doomed from the beginning?’

‘No, I don’t feel that,’ she quickly replied.

I believe I need someone better equipped to manage that situation. I also realize I’ve made errors, likely because I tend to be very open about my personal life, even though I’m a public figure.

I’ve always dreamed of sharing my life with a partner, someone to experience special occasions with, like walking the red carpet.

I didn’t try to avoid talking about it, and I did share my experiences. But after everything my children and I have gone through recently, I’ve realized I just want to be more private about that part of my life moving forward.

She explained that with a high level of fame comes sacrifice. While she feels very fortunate, one downside is that maintaining a personal life can be difficult, and hers has sometimes been affected as a result.

To have a fulfilling relationship, you need to be willing to adapt and change how you act.
