Small detail in photos of Sarah Abo arriving at Nine Upfronts with Karl Stefanovic could provide clue about her future amid chatter that she’ll be replaced by Samantha Armytage

Sarah Abo and Karl Stefanovic, both hosts on Today, appeared together as they arrived at Nine’s annual showcase event in Sydney on Wednesday.

The network’s biggest annual event was unfortunately dominated by rumors that Karl Stefanovic might be leaving his breakfast TV role, with Samantha Armytage potentially taking his place. This news took attention away from the event itself, which usually sets the direction for the channel’s programming for the year ahead.

Oh my gosh, did you SEE Stefanovic with Abo yesterday? He’s 51, she’s 39, and the way he just… put his hand on her waist as they walked in! It was so sweet and supportive, you could just *feel* how much he cares about her. I was totally picking up on all the vibes!

They walked side-by-side on the path and shared a quick hug just outside the event entrance.

I often see couples connect with these little physical cues – a quick arm around the shoulder, a hand at the waist. It’s a sweet, fleeting moment of closeness before they go their separate ways. It’s such a natural way to show affection and connection, even in a brief interaction.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed even the smallest moments can speak volumes. Recently, I saw a sweet gesture between two co-stars – it felt like a deliberate show of support, especially considering the rumors swirling about potential issues with their working relationship. It really made me think about how people often signal strength – or a need for it – through these little interactions.

Karl seems to have a close connection with his co-star, which might mean he doesn’t want her to leave the show, or he’s simply being supportive during a difficult period for her.

To make things even more uncomfortable, Jesse Palmer’s ex-girlfriend, Amy Armytage – who will be hosting the new show *The Golden Bachelor* – was also there and seemed prepared for the cameras.

Forty-nine-year-old Samantha turned heads with a stunning black jumpsuit, looking radiant and becoming the center of attention.

Rumors are swirling that Savannah Guthrie’s role on the Today show may be coming to an end, and people are already speculating about what she’ll do next.

According to a report in The Australian newspaper, there’s a possibility that Abe will be replaced by Samantha Armytage as the host of the popular show.

The changes to the show’s cast are reportedly a last-ditch effort to beat Seven’s ‘Sunrise’ in the ratings.

A Media Spy user speculated that this change might lead Abi to pursue a career in radio, especially after she recently demonstrated her skills on Nova FM.

This could explain why Sarah Abo recently stepped in for Chrissie Swan on the radio. Sources say she’s considering what’s next for her career.

Abo is a frequent guest on The Chrissie Swan Show and recently covered for Chrissie on the radio program during the last week of September.

The possibility of a change in hosts sparked a lot of discussion, and many viewers felt it would be a bad decision for Nine to replace Abo with Armytage on Today.

‘Karlos and Sarah are just fine atm. No need to change,’ one offered.

Another suggested there had already been too many personnel changes announced at the network.

Honestly, as a long-time viewer, the last thing *Today* needs right now is more shuffling around! Between the changes they’ve made to the sports coverage and the plans for a completely new *Weekend Today* team next year, it feels like it’s constantly in flux. I just wish they’d settle on a team and let them build some chemistry.

‘Changing out Sarah is not necessary. I don’t believe it will help the ratings.’

There’s concern the change could hurt Nine, particularly if the new show, The Golden Bachelor, hosted by Armytage, doesn’t attract a large audience.

They’re hesitant to feature Sam in their show because of the risk involved with *The Golden Bachelor*. If the show doesn’t perform well, having her appear on *Today* could be awkward.

Others were quick to claim that Armytage would be a perfect addition to the Today team.

‘I for one would love to see Sam back on morning television,’ a viewer offered.

‘Her fun personality and versatile ability as a host makes her perfect for the format.’

Nine, the network behind the ‘Sunrise’ program, is hoping to repeat past success. They believe that adding a new personality, similar to how Samantha Armytage boosted ratings when she joined in 2013, will again attract more viewers.

After leaving Sunrise in 2021, Armytage began hosting Farmer Wants A Wife and is now preparing to host The Golden Bachelor.

Abo joined Today in 2023, replacing outgoing host Allison Langdon.
