Netflix’s 4 new Christmas movies for 2025, ranked by how ridiculous they are (in a good way)

It’s never too soon to start thinking about Christmas! Even though it’s only mid-October, we want to help you get into the holiday mood.

Let’s get you excited for the holidays by previewing four upcoming Christmas movies on Netflix! We’ve ranked them based on how wonderfully silly their premises sound – and we’re totally okay with that!

Last year saw the release of films like *Hot Frosty*, a story about a woman who magically brings a snowman to life, and *Our Little Secret*, a holiday romance starring Lindsay Lohan.

What does 2025 have in store? Well take a look below.

A Merry Little Ex-Mas

“A Merry Little Ex-Mas” tells the story of a woman who recently got divorced and is now meeting her ex-husband’s new girlfriend. It’s likely the most straightforward and traditionally-structured film of the bunch.

I just watched this movie and it’s about Kate, played by Alicia Silverstone, who’s trying to have one last magical Christmas with her family at their house before they sell it. But things get complicated when her ex, Everett (Oliver Hudson), shows up with his new girlfriend – and she’s really thriving! It definitely throws a wrench into Kate’s plans and creates some awkward moments.

Get ready for lots of laughs and awkward moments in this film, starring Melissa Joan Hart (from *Sabrina the Teenage Witch*), Jameela Jamil (from *The Good Place*), and Pierson Fodé (from *Swiped*).

Streaming from 12 November.

Champagne Problems

A holiday season isn’t complete without a romantic comedy about an American finding love overseas – think movies like *A Castle for Christmas* and *The Princess Switch*. This year, *Champagne Problems* perfectly fits the bill.

The movie features Minka Kelly, known from *Euphoria*, as a businesswoman sent to France to buy a prestigious champagne company. But her plans get complicated when she falls for the company founder’s attractive son!

Tom Woznicka appears alongside the lead in this romantic comedy, which promises a lighthearted and enjoyable experience similar to the show *Emily in Paris*.

Streaming from 19 November.

Jingle Bell Heist

A Christmas crime caper? Perfect! We’re hooked by the idea of thieves who have to team up, only to start falling for each other and risk ruining their heist.

“Jingle Bell Heist” is a straightforward Christmas caper about two people planning to rob a fancy London store on Christmas Eve. Sophia, a clever retail worker, and Nick, a skilled repairman, initially work separately, but they team up and unexpectedly start to develop feelings for each other.

Is this a Christmas miracle, finding love during a robbery? Either way, we’re predicting this will be hilariously chaotic – and we’re excited to see what happens!

Streaming from 26 November.

My Secret Santa

Things are getting delightfully chaotic in *My Secret Santa*, and it looks like we’re in for a lot of laughs, lies, and maybe even a little romance!

Featuring Alexandra Breckenridge from *Virgin River* and Ryan Eggold from *New Amsterdam*, this movie tells the story of a struggling single mother who pretends to be a man to get a job as Santa at a fancy ski resort. Things get complicated when she starts to fall for one of the hotel managers.

We’re eager to find out if her disguise is convincing, and we have a feeling she’ll eventually stumble and fall while skiing.

Streaming from 3 December.
