Charli XCX isn’t addressing rumors that Taylor Swift wrote a song attacking her.

Many fans think the singer’s song “Actually Romantic,” from her album *The Life of A Showgirl*, is about Charli, age 33.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the British pop star chose not to discuss the matter.

This follows reactions from Saturday Night Live viewers who believed Charli subtly criticized Taylor Swift by wearing a Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt during her brief appearance with musical guest Role Model.

People online guessed that her shirt was a nod to Taylor Swift, as her fiancé, Travis Kelce, plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, some viewers noticed the top worn by Role Model during the broadcast was actually from his own merchandise collection.

Charli’s 2024 album, Brat, was a big hit and featured the song ‘Sympathy is a Knife,’ which many fans believe contains lyrics about Taylor Swift.

The album also features a song titled “Everything is Romantic,” which many fans believe connects to Taylor Swift’s rumored relationship with Charli XCX, hinted at by the phrase “Actually Romantic.”

The song ‘Actually Romantic’ features the lyric, ‘I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when you’ve had a bit of courage from drinking Coke.’

After Charli appeared on TV, a viewer commented on X (formerly Twitter), praising her cameo and playfully calling her ‘Boring Barbie’ top the perfect finishing touch.

The person added: ‘Charli and Role Model just owned SNL!’

And one social media user wrote that Taylor is ‘screaming into her pillows’ after the Charli cameo.

Many people supported Taylor and jokingly threatened the person wearing the Kansas City Chiefs t-shirt, referencing a memorable line from the movie ‘Actually Romantic’.

Someone else asked how long Charli has been spreading rumors about Taylor, adding that she’s too mature to be acting this way.

In a recent interview with Amazon Music, the singer explained the meaning behind her popular song, “Actually Romantic.”

The song ‘Actually Romantic’ is about discovering someone you thought you knew had secretly been struggling with a difficult, one-way conflict with you, something you were unaware of.

The songwriter explained that sometimes people unexpectedly reveal they’ve been obsessing over you, making you realize you were always on their mind without you even knowing it.

She explained that the behavior often appears as resentment or disapproval, but is mistakenly accepted as a sign of love, attention, or affection.

It’s quite touching to realize someone has included you so deeply in their world, especially when you hadn’t considered it before. When you think about it, it’s actually a really sweet and romantic idea.
