October is the perfect time for horror movies – whether it’s revisiting old favorites, checking out new releases you missed in theaters, or enjoying some wonderfully cheesy, low-budget films.
A great example is the 2018 film *The VelociPastor*, which is now available to stream on Prime Video.

According to Nerdist, Velocipastor is a knowingly silly movie that’s actually hilarious. They also noted that the witty dialogue is likely to become quotable for audiences watching in theaters.
According to the *Nashville Scene*, lead actor Greg Cohan is incredibly charming, and the movie consistently delivers both humor and exciting action. *Pajiba* described it as cleverly smart yet wonderfully silly.
Flickering Myth felt the movie didn’t quite succeed, explaining that despite its intentional over-the-top humor, it wasn’t a convincing parody of a low-budget B movie.
The movie continues to be surprisingly popular since its initial release. The creators held a panel and screening at New York Comic-Con over the weekend, and one of them even wore a dinosaur costume – naturally!
A new DVD and Blu-ray version, created from the original 4K source, has just been released. Plus, a follow-up movie finished filming in 2023 and its sound and special effects are now complete.
