LoL Worlds 2025 anthem pays heartfelt tribute to Shushei

The official song for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship is called “Sacrifice,” performed by G.E.M. The song also includes contributions from Shushei and other famous pro players.

Riot Games announced that G.E.M.’s song “Sacrifice” will be the official theme song for the League of Legends World Championship in 2025 (LoL Worlds 2025). The promotional video included Maciej “Shushei” Ratuszniak and others.

The “Sacrifice” music video launched on October 13th, right before the big esports match between Invictus Gaming and T1. It showcased famous players like Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok from T1, and also included a touching memorial to Shushei.

Near the end of the music video, a tribute to Shushei was included and quickly became popular with fans. Many Reddit users called it a beautiful way to honor his memory. Shushei was a champion in the first League of Legends World Championship in 2011, playing for FNATIC, and as a beloved former mid laner for Pulse Esports who sadly passed away, his appearance in the video was a moving tribute to his influence.

User Large_Love_2563 commented that the last scene with Shushei was a lovely tribute to his character.

Heliotex praised Riot Games for recognizing the original champions from Seasons 1 and 2, even though esports became much more popular after Season 2. They specifically loved the tribute to Shushei and the images of the Fnatic and TPA logos on the winning team monuments in the League of Legends event, Rise.

Many users on X, including the official accounts for FNC and League of Legends Esports, also highlighted the Shushei tribute.
