Drew Barrymore’s ex Tom Green, 54, ties the knot 23 years after brief union with ET star

Drew Barrymore’s former husband, Tom Green, has married a woman who looks remarkably like her, 23 years after their short-lived marriage ended.

On Sunday, 54-year-old comedian announced he’s married his fiancee, Amanda Nelson, in a post on Instagram.

He posted lovely photos from his beautiful fall wedding, which took place outdoors with his bride, who is also from Petawawa, Ontario, Canada.

Tom announced on social media that he and Amanda got married yesterday, calling it a wonderful day full of love, joy, and celebration.

We’re so grateful to have shared our special day with all of our wonderful family and friends! We’ll cherish these memories forever. ❤️ #married #justmarried

Lots of Tom’s celebrity friends sent congratulations to the newly married couple, including comedian Pauly Shore, who wrote, ‘Dude, awesome congratulations, my old friend!’

Magician Criss Angel, recently separated from his wife, shared a message saying, ‘Congratulations! That’s fantastic! Wishing you all the best. Xc.’

Funnyman Dane Cook wrote: ‘Congratulations to the both of you love looks great on you Tom!’

This happened almost ten months after he announced his engagement to a woman who bears a striking resemblance to his well-known former partner, with his future wife displaying her large diamond ring.

The funnyman took to his Threads account back in December to share his happy news.

Tom recently posted adorable photos of his fiancee, Amanda, and her new engagement ring, which has a large diamond.

He announced their engagement in a post, saying he’s incredibly happy and feels lucky to be marrying Amanda. He shared his love for her and wished everyone a Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas, signing off with four heart emojis.

Tom didn’t share many details about his future wife, not even her last name. However, a spokesperson for the actor, known for his role in ‘Freddie Got Fingered,’ confirmed to People magazine that Amanda was originally from his hometown of Petawawa, Canada.

Tom’s representative shared with a magazine in December 2024 that both he and the other person grew up in Canadian military families. They even went to the same military school as children, bonding over their shared appreciation for a rural lifestyle.

I was so thrilled to hear that my favorite actor finally moved back home to Canada! After living in Los Angeles for more than twenty years, he bought this incredible 150-acre property – a real wilderness and farm – and is now raising horses. It’s just wonderful to know he’s pursuing this new chapter and getting back to his roots.

It’s unclear exactly when they started dating, but the first photo of them together appeared on his Instagram in June.

He recently posted photos from a snowy mountain trip, writing, ‘Thanks to my wonderful girlfriend Amanda for the fun and adventurous time we had out west!’

He’s been regularly sharing sweet messages about his partner since the summer, but he’s also made an effort to protect their privacy and keep details about her life to themselves.

Tom was famously married to Drew from 2001 to 2002.

I still remember when Drew and Tom reunited back in September 2000! It was on Drew’s brand new talk show – she was just starting out then, and it was so exciting to see them together again.

The actress, known for her role in Charlie’s Angels, recently reunited with her ex-husband, revealing it had been almost 20 years since they divorced and 15 years since they last talked.

Drew fondly remembered feeling safe and peaceful before bed at Tom’s family’s lake house. It was a time she associated with pure contentment.

She reflected that twenty years can feel like no time at all, or like a lifetime, depending on how you look at it. ‘We’ve both experienced so much in the last two decades,’ she added, ‘it feels like a complete life for each of us.’

It feels wonderful to connect and share what’s on our minds. I deeply admire you and have always been, and will always be, your biggest supporter.

Tom and Drew married quickly on July 7, 2001, but their relationship didn’t last. They divorced in December of the same year, stating they had differences they couldn’t resolve.

“It’s great to see you again,” Tom said. “It’s been about fifteen years since we last spoke, and this is the first time we’ve been face-to-face in all that time.”

Drew recalled first meeting them in 2000 while filming and producing Charlie’s Angels.

I really appreciate how our professional relationship began. I was a huge fan of your work, so I contacted you about doing Charlie’s Angels, and I was thrilled when you agreed.

I always loved hearing about Tom Green and Drew Barrymore! From what I understand, they really clicked instantly – they both just loved to have fun, and that’s what brought them together.

He fondly remembered their early dates, recounting how they once bought lobsters simply because they both loved animals. Instead of eating them, they drove to the ocean and released them, a decision they made together and shared a lot of laughs over.

Drew remembered that Tom was the catalyst in her love of photography. 

She fondly remembered the Pentax K1000 camera he’d given her, explaining that it sparked a twenty-year passion for photography. It also led to a period where she loved taking pictures in a style inspired by the film ‘Annie Hall,’ which she described as a beautiful art form.

Tom, known for remembering special items, quickly produced a custom mug featuring a photo of Drew wearing a neck brace.

Tom explained he’d found the mug in his garage a few years back and held onto it, hoping he’d one day be on the show and could drink from it.

I still have the mug Chris made! It reminds me of that time in New York when you were doing yoga and accidentally sprained your neck. I’ve held onto it all this time.

Drew admitted she was ‘so happy’ too see Tom again after all of these years.  

He said he was very grateful for all the wonderful experiences and truly cherished them, adding, “Thanks, Drew, I appreciate it.”
