MLBB returns to Esports World Cup 2026 following record breaking run

MLBB MSC and MWI will be part of the EWC 2026.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), the world’s most popular mobile esport, will be featured in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026. This comes after a hugely successful 2025 event where MLBB significantly outperformed all other games in terms of viewers and overall popularity.

MLBB esports shatter records at the 2025 Esports World Cup

The EWC 2025 event led to impressive viewership numbers for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Esports Charts data shows that the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2025, a major mid-season tournament, made up more than a quarter of the total EWC viewership, reaching over 50.2 million hours watched. During the tournament, Team Liquid PH achieved a historic victory, completing their collection of championship titles by defeating the previous champions, SRG.OG.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational (MWI) 2025 was a major success. As the biggest women’s tournament leading up to the EWC 2025, it attracted an impressive 468,976 peak viewers. In total, the event logged 3.78 million hours of watch time, placing it 10th among all games at the event. Notably, it outperformed popular titles like Overwatch (4.76 million hours) and Honor of Kings (3.66 million hours). Team Vitality emerged victorious, achieving a perfect run throughout the tournament without losing a single match.

Given these impressive figures, it’s expected that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) will participate again in the EWC 2026 tournament. Tiger Xu, who leads MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, explains that this collaboration is about more than simply organizing esports competitions.

We’re excited to continue working with the Esports World Cup Foundation, as it shows MOONTON Games’ commitment to growing the esports industry. We want to do more than just run tournaments – we aim to build a healthy, thriving esports environment and establish a benchmark for quality in the sport.
