New thriller The Woman in Cabin 10 is trending despite being branded as “more Netflix slop” by viewers

Despite getting a mixed reaction from critics and audiences, the new Netflix thriller, *The Woman in Cabin 10*, featuring Keira Knightley and Guy Pearce, is currently a popular topic of conversation around the world.

The movie is adapted from Ruth Ware’s 2016 novel of the same title and stars Keira Knightley as Laura ‘Lo’ Blacklock, an investigative journalist. Lo is invited aboard a brand-new superyacht for its first trip.

Even though the ship seemed perfect, Lo began to worry when someone fell overboard. The rest of the crew insisted everyone was still on board, but she wasn’t convinced something wasn’t wrong.

The film, featuring strong performances from David Morrissey and Hannah Waddingham, launched globally on Netflix last Friday, October 10th, and has quickly become popular with viewers.

According to FlixPatrol, *The Woman in Cabin 10* is currently the most popular movie on the streaming service in both the UK and globally. It’s performing better than other titles like *Caramelo* and *KPop Demon Hunters*.

Although the film has been watched by a lot of people, it hasn’t been well-received by critics or audiences. It currently has a 28% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 40 reviews, and viewers give it a similarly low score of 34%.

IMDb users generally rate the show higher, averaging 6.0 out of 10 based on over 13,000 reviews. However, at least one viewer strongly disliked it, calling it typical low-quality content from Netflix.

The book this film is based on had a lot of potential and could have been a truly compelling movie if given the right treatment. However, the film itself feels shallow, lacking depth, emotional impact, and strong acting.

One viewer described the movie as predictably bad, saying it was easy to figure out the plot thanks to obvious clues. They also called it ‘another dull Netflix movie’.

One viewer offered a more positive take, saying the story begins a little predictably, but quickly becomes engaging with a surprising ending. They also praised the story’s good pacing and beautiful scenery.
