Gameplay Group International is creating *Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game*, a unique 2D fighting game with a beautiful, hand-drawn art style. At launch, players will be able to choose from a roster of twelve characters, including popular Avatars like Aang and Korra, powerful benders such as Toph, Zuko, and Azula, and even the non-bending Sokka. The game features a special “Flow System” that emphasizes movement and a season-based structure, meaning new content and features will be added over time for players to enjoy and compete in.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a fighting game that captures the essence of bending the elements. It’s designed to be enjoyable for both new and experienced players, offering a familiar yet fresh take on the fighting game genre with innovative movement and combat. The developers prioritized smooth gameplay, quick reactions, and a fair online experience, encouraging players to find meaning in every fight. Visually, the game uses beautiful, hand-drawn 2D animation to stay true to the style of the original Avatar series.
I’m so excited about *Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game*! It’s not just about the awesome PvP battles – they’re promising fantastic online play with top-notch netcode and cross-play, which is huge! But they’re also building a brand new single-player story mode that’s going to show us a fresh take on the Avatar universe. And if you need a break from fighting, you can hone your skills with Combo Trials or just chill out and explore everything the game has to offer in Gallery Mode. Just a heads-up, the game’s title is still *Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game* for now, so it could change later on.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is expected to come out in the summer of 2026, but the exact date hasn’t been revealed yet.
